Police were dispatched to East Main Street on a report of a fight in the roadway. Police said they approached the victim, who said he had just been assaulted by Jason Papatyi, 21.

The reporting officer, Patrolman Cole Williams-Ficarr, said he tried to speak with Papatyi, who was standing nearby.

"As I approached Mr. Papatyi, he became highly irate and began screaming obscenities while he ripped off his shirt,'' the patrolman wrote in a police report.

Papatyi continued screaming obscenities while punching the side of his home, a nearby tree and a street sign.

Papatyi was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, police said.
