1. 05-19-2009 we attended the I-130 interview, after all shots, fees and submissions were complete...at the interview my petitioner was informed she needed a co sponsor added to my sponsorship

2. 05-28-2009 we submitted the co sponsor I-864 to prove 5 times the difference of my shortfall on the primary I-864

3. Does anyone have some reasonable "guesstimate" as to the time that will elapse for the co sponsor evaluation?

4. Will the co sponsor receive a letter from USCIS indicating their evaluation

5. Will we receive a letter from USCIS that will tell us the proces has begun, or whether we are approved/denied

6. And will we receive a visa by mail? or should we reappear at the USCIS in guangzhou to personally receive the visa there, to avoid theft, or loss?

Did you file an I-864 for the co-sponsor, or an I-864A? As far as I know, you can only combine income and assets from primary sponsor and co-sponsor if the co-sponsor is an immediate relative or dependent living in the same household as the primary sponsor, in which case you'd file I-834A. Otherwise, the co-sponsor has to meet the requirements on their own, without considering the income of the primary sponsor.

If this is the only hangup in your application, then I would think it shouldn't take more than a few weeks. Depends very much on the consulate.

I don't think the co-sponsor receives anything. Someone with specific experience may know different.

You should be contacted by the consulate, but don't count on it, especially in east Asia. You might receive a letter, an email, both a letter and an email, or neither. Check with the consulate regularly to find out the status of your case.

You need to contact the consulate to see how they handle delivery of the visa. Most will let you pick it up, but you have to let them know you're doing that before they send it out.

Thanks very much for this information

I will be sure to recheck the I-130 Joint sponsorship form requirment, as well as, the criteria...

Will also contact Guangzhou this week to begin checking up on the file status, and subsequent pick-up of the visa, in any event (hopeful).
