I am applying for a K-3 visa for my wife currently in the Philippines. I understand that for the K-3 I am to send her the I-134, not the I-864, right?? The I-864 is filed after she gets to the USA and is applying for adjustment of status, right?? I'm concerned because I have seen so much talk here in the forum about being prepared with the right tax returns. Am I correct with the understanding that NO tax returns will be required at our interview or at any point prior to her arrival in the USA? ....the instructions for filing out the I-134 only mention tax returns if your self employed. All of the other required documents for the I-134 (Statement from officer at my bank, letter of verified employment from employer, copies of paystubs and investment accounts, and completed, notarized I-134) are ready to go. Thanks for you help!

i. EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You must demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the US government for financial support. Submit your petitioner's most recent US Federal Income Tax Return (Form 1040) and wage and tax statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements are acceptable. A completed I-134 form will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner's ability to be financially responsible for you. If your petitioner's income falls short of the minimum requirement, a co-sponsor is necessary to cover for the difference.

Scott,

You may be correct, then again you may not.

Further to the information that aussiewench provided for you, understand that I-134 is not the financial requirements for a K visa - it is but one of several items that may be required. Income tax returns are another very popular item.
