..bullsh!t ..the inflation rate will never exceed the rate of inflation during the reagan early years...

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I was around then also. The money we are printing now is WAY more than then. Just wait, triple digit inflation is coming next year. The devaluation of the dollar has already begun. Have you looked at the exchange rate lately?

1980 was the worst year I lived through. I got out of the Navy and couldn't find a job for over a year. I was homeless for almost 6 months and lived in a broken down car. What is coming will make that look like good times.

Um, yeah. No kidding money supply is larger now than 28 years ago.

For that matter, the population is larger. The workforce is larger. The economy is larger. The GDP is larger. Foreign trade is larger. The use of USD as a global reserve throught a (larger) global economy is larger.

M1, M2, M2 measures of money supply have increased dramatically since then as a reflection of much more economic activity using all that additional capital.

It's the ratio of money supply/GDP, or perhaps more accurately even money supply growth/GDP growth (ratio of the derivatives) that you should be concerned about, not the absolute size of the money supply itself.

By any measure we are printing more money now than at any other time.

tell it brother!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
