Hello Everyone,

Alhamdulillah, I received a letter of approval in the mail on 06/01/09 for I129F. Wehn I called NVC in the evening, they confirmed that they received both applications from USCIS today (6/01). I am in need of some guidance here. I don't know what I should do at this stage to get things expedited.

I have follwoing questions:

1) Should I wait and do nothing while NVC processes the applications or there are forms/documents that I or my wife needs to get ready before I receive anything from NVC.

2) I have seen some members talking about a shortcut at NVC for I130, where I can find it?

3) Provided that applications have been approved, what should I do in terms of pursuing. Should I go for IR1/CR1 or for K3. Please remember the goal is to get my wife here as soon as possible :)

4) I have been delaying my trip to Pakistan in the hope that I will be able to accompany my wife at the time of interview. I hear that it won't be possible. Is it true and will a Congressman or a Senator's assistance make a difference. I really want to be able to be with my wife at the interview, at least be inside the embassy. Any suggestions?

Any help/guidance will be much appreciated. Specifically, I would like to hear from members from Pakistan who have been through similar situations.

Thank you.

Salam alaikum and congrats

I was very confused at this stage that you're in now

You have to choose which to pursue

I'm told the K3 is the quicker way but I have found it seems to be the more expensive way

I don't care how expensive really as long as my husband makes it here sooner

I chose the K3 only after I sent all the fees for the I-130 cuz then I found out by calling the NVC that the I-129 had been sent to the embassy already

We are now waiting for the interview and reading the posts on here i'm getting scared that this will take over a year even though my baby has his interview on the 15th Alhamdulillah

Oh well... inshallah he'll get here ONE day

Salaams

First off congratulations on your approval. I would suggest you to go through this guide and prepare everything asap. A few things have changed a bit with NVC, these days NVC consults you through email, so do call up NVC number, talk to a representative and give out your email address.

I would suggest you to keep going with CR-1 visa, you won't have to waste another 1k once your spouse come over to USA and they can work asap they receive their SSN. Good luck!
