hi, my question is that i have been physically abused by my u.s citizen spouse ans we are still working on the divorce but when i went for the interview and explained everything to the consulate they wanted me to send some more documents to proof that he was been abusive and i only have 1 police report to proof it because i did not report him to the police. whenever i got hit by him. they are also asking for the decree of the divorce which has not been finalised and they are giving me 30days to bring all these and time is not on my side right i dont know what to do.

Consulate? Are you in the US? Or do you mean USCIS?

One report will not show a pattern of abuse. Seek out witnesses to back up your story. Photo's of bruises?

Read this:

VAWA USCIS

You may want to consult with a lawyer.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS
