Poorly worded poll, Mr. Bill.

If you're looking for a job at Gallup, sorry --- FAIL!

I am sure you can improve.

It did kinda suck... if I weren't so lazy I would make a better poll.

This one is much better. I gave it :star::star::star::star::star:

You can have conservative views on some things & more liberal views on others. For example my foreign policy views would probably lean right while my views on the environment would lean left. However I imagine most people would describe themselves as moderates for the simple fact that being labeled a liberal (librul) or conservative (neocon) has a negative connotation.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

10 out of 12 respondents think they're moderates, ha.

Amazing, isn't it? What is more amazing, is that the word "liberal" is pejorative across the spectrum, but the word "conservative" somehow is not. That is one reason when you see what Chris Matthews called Luntz's "Peasants under Glass", the so-called undecided's seem to lean to the left, although they identify themselves as more to the center of the spectrum.

I said it a dozen times, but the last election was all about the undecided voters. Something like 30% of the voters will vote Republican no matter what & 30% of the voters will vote Democrat no matter what. That leaves 40% moderate/undecided voter & that's the group that Obama & McCain fought over. These undecided voters "leaned to the left" because they felt Obama had a better chance of getting our country out of the crapper than McCain.

Do you consider yourself a moderate?

Yes. [ 14 ] [60.87%]

No. [ 9 ] [39.13%]

About what you would expect. Most people like to think they are more to the center of the spectrum.

Do you consider yourself more conservative than liberal?

Yes. [ 12 ] [52.17%]

No. [ 11 ] [47.83%]

Also about what you would expect. The two major parties are evenly divided, and generally fall along lines of conservative and liberal, with some overlap in the center.

Are you more liberal than most people?

Yes. [ 6 ] [26.09%]

No. [ 17 ] [73.91%]

For some of our friends on the left, this should be a wake up. About half of the liberal respondents are much more liberal than they think they are.

For the self identified commies. I salute you! 4fvgdaq_th.gifYou are comfortable in your own skin, and that makes the dialectic so much better. 2chw5mg.gif

I'm liberal, and not afraid to say it! But, I am not a radical, or nothing. I try to listen to both sides, so I think I am a moderate too.

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."
