I did some research on VJ; yet I'm confused whether or not I will need to send two passport photos for my DS-230 appl. I understand that instructions may vary based on the country.

Do Canadian beneficiaries need passport photos for DS-230 appl?

Yes I did read the instructions on USCS site and does not mention about the photos. But VJ members do mention about it.

DS-230 is not a USCIS form but a Department of State form.... possibly why you did not see mention of it...

Appointment NVC Processing

The applicant and each family member who will accompany the applicant to the United States will need to submit two front-view color photographs with a white background.
