Jawi - I haven't give up home on ATL yet...still searching for a job. ATL has some nice houses...love your neighborhood BTW.

Thank you...my little family is outgrowing my little starter home though. I want something bigger...but then I was thinking of just adding on.

My rice-n-peas have the best taste and is very moist and separated...but still not the same texture as Jamaican...I can't get it to "dry" out right. Does that make sense?

Yes, it does. Sometimes, if I'm not watching the pot it will turn out the same way. I prefer gungo peas and rice and I never put coconut milk in my rice it mek di rice spoil easy.

I have a question to any of my sisters from Africa out there, how the HELL do ya'll fry GOAT...mi mean seh di goat tough areadi, den unu go fry it...no sah...fus time mi try dat mi nearli end up wid dentures

Oh so it's the coconut milk. I wanted to practice some more before A got here because God bless my honey's heart...he can't cook to save his own life. He tried to make me some tin mackerel and white rice once....oh my GOD...he ended up getting scotch bonnet in his nose and eyes...then the mackerel was swimming (yes it was resucitated from the dead) in oil and HOT HOT with scotch bonnet. I never ate so much white rice before at one time trying to soak up the oil. Bless his heart. he makes great tea though! LOL

I don't think it is over population...just very poor transportation system and planning. The bumper to bumper traffic is enough to make you slit your own wrists with baby teeth.

not w/ baby teeth.. dyam.. i wouldn't survive.. i hate traffic.. i have turned down jobs just becuz there would be bumper to bumper traffic for miles..

I hate it too...but I drive 45 to an hour without traffic to work...with traffic it becomes 3 to 4 hours EASILY!

Main reason I left GA and FL...kiss mi neck...FL to me was WORSE when it came to traffic...the only perks with living in Ft. Lauderal and Miami was the $89 r/t flights to Jamaica (damn that was years ago though)

Ft. Lauderdale is my next destination...please dont tell me that about the traffic...it can't be worse than Atlanta....I just don't believe it.

Newly, you can feed 5 people wid 1 chicken back, remember the dumplin and yam and all the other veggies full u up fast, so you don't worry bout no beat, besides when you no ave money fi meat, that's how you manage.

damn... well that sure did impress me because afta immigration fees thats exactly how we will be living!! no but seriously i never seen that before im just watching him cook and im thinking i wonder what his friends is going to eat??? when he was finished everybody had a plate and was satisfied... it makes you think of how much you eat because i damn sure can eat 2 chicken breast from kfc by myself

that's how I grew up, we managed and survived. Anytime I go home, I'm guaranteed to lose at least 12 pounds in 2 weeks...it never fails and I eat 3 maybe 4 meals a day. I don't know why, but it's always like that and as soon as I get back here, I gain it back...what a stress pon mi

They need to hire you a chauffer then you can work on your paperwork while he drives you around.

Traffic worse than DC/MD/VA????? I'm used to traffic so it doesn't bother me.

Yes, in the stretch that I commute - it's just as bad if not worse - I deal with the commute into NYC traffic, and our highways are really badly designed - we have two - one 3 lanes, one two lanes - if there is an accident, you are STUCK

Yes ma'am. I will probably just be coming out of the hospital and recovering...so I don't know how much I will comprehend. Maybe my sis can take the message for me. I hate that I won't be able to fully celebrate when it happens.

I will be having my second neck surgery on Thursday. They will be cutting me in the front again and then flipping me over to cut in the back of my neck. I will also have stitches around my head because they have to put that metal crown on my head to keep it from flopping around and to keep blood pressure from my eyes (it can cause blindness if too much pressure rests on my eyes )....I'm trying hard not to be scared...please keep me in your prayers for full recovery and no complications.

Hey I just thought of something! They better not MESS with my 'HAWK!!!! I do not want my hair shaved or cut!!!!! CHA!!!!!!!

On a good note, my short term disability just got approved so I get all my vacation/personal/sick hours back that I used to make sure I didn't go without a paycheck. Woooooottttt!!!!

Awww...Girl ....you know you will be in our prayers..... (L)

Ladies... I have a question... maybe a RANT!

Louis has FB and Gmail etc... he knows I log in once in a while. He isnt real computer literate and I am the one who set up the accounts for him. He has hooked up with Lucian friends in the states as well as keeping in touch with people back home....

Anyway... there is the chic in MD, from St Lucia originally, that has been sending him messages... "I Love you", "call me"... ish like that. Louis knows I am annoyed and doesnt answer her. He doesnt call her... but she is bugging me! She knows he is married!!! WTH does she think he is going to do??? Leave me for her old azz?? From what Louis says she never works, just lives with friends and dates men who pay her way.

WHat would you all do? Send her a message, call her? I want to message her and tell her she needs to stop... but I don't want to step over any boundaries.

Irie - he needs to handle it - Not just ignore her, but tell her to stop - It has to come from him - if it comes from you, she's gonna get pleasure in that she's causing you issues -

  We have the same here - can't stand the traffic!!

Y'all chat too much today, I can't keep up, lol!

My want to move spots are MD and NC

I am not lying. I don't know if you guys remember the time the plane crashed on interstate GA 400. Well, I do! It was a Friday which is already a traffic hell day in Atlanta. Jokes are that you can be in rush hour traffic from Friday morning until Sunday night...well I digress. The accident happened on the highway I use to get home...there were no GPS systems and the like back then...so I get on and prepare to sit. It was a HOT summer day for HOTLANTA somewhere around the 90s...well the closer I get to the actual wreckage and the burning fumes...the hotter it got. I'm sitting in a little hooptie with NO AC!!!! All four windows are rolled down and i am sweating buckets...praying for God to send one little breeze...okay thanks God...one more little breeze and I will forever sing Your praises! I get the brilliant idea that bra and panties are real similar to a bikini...so I literally strip out of all my clothes sitting in traffic. What I forgot about (or didn't care about at the moment) were 18 wheelers and real big SUVs...all of sudden truckers are driving by looking at me honking their horns...pointing and gesturing. I got a little relief fromt he heat so I just turned my music up and hoped my shades wouldn't melt to my face. I DARED a policeman to give me a ticket for indecent exposure too.

Louis and I are good - already like an old married couple! LOL...

That's my biggest fear....

HAPPY old married couple. It just seems like we have known each other forever. Its a good thing. :-)

I'm happy for you guys. I'll be happy with Happy young married couple. LOL

Hell yeah U can send her rass a message and ask her what's up? I would have no problem sending her a message because like you say she knows he’s married but keeps sending him I love you's. Tell her Mrs. Louis loves her too or you can tell her Louis has asked you to take over all communication with her so from now on its just the two of you so what would you like to talk about??
