... Another thing my friends and I use to do back in the day was go to dry cleaners and asked if they had any plus size clothing that people didn't pick up and if they're willing to sell it to us...the designer suits we were sporting were until. I paid anywhere from $10 - $20 per suit. They were just glad to get rid of them.

Never heard of this before, but that's a great idea!

Just got off the phone with VSC. The lady said my case has been assigned to an officer. I asked how long officers usually take to work their cases. She said she can't give me a timeline. I asked if "officer" meant the same thing as "adjudicator" and she said that all she can say is that it is with a USCIS officer. If I don't hear anything in 30 days, call back. What about 30 minutes? LOL

LOL, Nat - Next time, try using the same story that Roxcie used about taking an assignment for work and not wanting to conflict with the interview.... I don't think she got a direct answer, but she got more info...

We didn't either, but learned about it a women's conference on finances. Some of the ladies said they've been doing it for many years.

 Keep bugging USCIS.

I love a man with a plan. That's the one thing I love about Damien. He is super serious about money...one of us have to be :innocent: I used to really get angry but he makes a lot of sense. He always buys my daughter and I nice things, we go on date nights, and he buys nice clothes for himself...can't complain because he works so hard and doesn't blow his money.

EXACTLY! I call it balance. My husband is my balance. If we're in the mall and I'll see a pair of shoes and WANT it, he'll give me a look, then I'll think do I really NEED another pair of shoes right now. I can't deal with a wasteful man -- to me it's just irresponsible. When my husband got here we went to New York to meet up with some of his friends and go shopping. His friends were dropping $$$ like it was nothing and they told my husband he'll be spending it like that in a few months. Once in a while they'll call and leave a message asking for help with finances, I just hold my head back and laugh out loud...my husband erases the messages as soon as he hears the word MONEY.

Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing great and wonderful!

There is no way for me to catch up with all the happenings.

Things are going well up here in Sunny Maine! Louis' birthday is Sunday, surprise party for him tomorrow! YAY! He has no idea! Then Reggae on Sunday! I am sooooo happy it is Friday.

Louis' is working 2 jobs, he likes them.. Local Garden Center and Hardware store... I am so proud he got 2 jobs within a month of getting his EAD!

Now we are just waiting on the GC... case was transferred to CSC got touched a couple times and now nothing... I hate waiting.

So someone should give me a quick recap of whats going on with everyone. I will try to pop on more often.. Thanks Lawny for getting me here.. :D

My job has been crazy busy (too bad I dont get a nice raise)!! Wishful thinking.....

We also have seperate finances - we each have our own bank accounts and pay seperate bills i.e. he pays the phone, cable and internet , car note and I pay most of the rent, gas, insurance and electric. We have a joint account for savings and checking for entertainment, gym fees, etc. This works for us so we can both have control.

i was reading a thread from 07 where a former adjudicator was explaining how it was in his time

he said he took like 15 mins to go through and approve a file

i was like  we wait 6 mths for someone to spend 15 mins on a file!

i have a feeling you will get through soon though nat. i'm praying for you

VJ ladies I am typing with tears in my eyes. Hubby and I had a huge fight abt my finances. I am in a lot of debt and I tried to hide it from him. he found out. I dont feel that I should tell him abt them cuz they are NOT his debt. He says he cannot trust me cuz I hide these stuff from him. He cannot help me cuz I make way more than him.

What a coincidence that this happened cuz I see that u ladies are talking abt money and finances!

ETA: if there are any grammatical errors I am sorry. There are tears in my eyes

You had good intentions....protecting him. It will pass. Give it time and talk it out.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I am saddened to hear this, but it is important for you to be totally honest in your marriage no matter what the issue is. Its understandable he is feeling slighted because you didn't tell him sooner, but I know you have your reasons all I can say is better late then never. A Husband I supposed to support you, and marriage means working through all of your problems together no matter what! I have faith that everything will work out, this is a bump in the road and you can get past this together! (F)

Girl, you need to start sharing the load. He is your HUSBAND, you share your life, heart, mind and soul with him, share the bad too. I know you have that stubborn streak that doesn't want to burden him, but your problems are also his. Don't take the chance for him to be there for you away from him. Now it's out in the open, you can move on from there girl...

JA English I love this advice, you always have great advice for us ladies.....

Good Evening Ladies, I miss you all
