Morning, All. Congratulations, Dillon!

on the plus side of that i get to work the jazz festival this evening so im sure work wont be so hard to deal with....

Sounds fun, my2! Have a great day.

good news ladies!

NEW INTERVIEW DATE SCHEDULED: July 17 8 am!

:star: this is the one :star:

Great news! I bet he'll be EXTRA sure to make that interview day go as smoothly as possible.

Me and my boo are doing OK, whoever said this was going to be easy, was lying. It has even gotten to the point of almost cancelling the wedding, but for now its still on. I am praying on it.

That's good that your current boss sounds like he'll/she'll cooperate with you looking for a job. Not all are like that.

When I mentioned to one of my good friends last weekend that I'll want to go to JoP as soon as Steven gets here, so we can file for EAD/AOS as soon as possible, she suggested using at least part of the 90 days to get to know each other more and see how we get along when together for more than a week at a time. From reading your post, Lovesponge, I can see the benefits of not rushing to get married the first day possible. Hmm. I'll put some thought into that.

Nat I thought the same thing, my original date was in june. Then I thought about getting to know each other on a living together level first and I think thats what the govt had in mind as well when they came up with K1 and the 90 days "trial period". I am gonna be completely honest with you because I believe we are all here to help each other out in any way throughout this whole process. We argue ALOT and i mean over stupid stuff. Some of it is me i must admit I am 30 years old and have never lived with a man before so I am very private and cant stand anyone telleng me what to do or being in my personal space. Some of it is him, he has a very short temper and is kind of selfish. We are happy at the end of the day but trust me it is a loooooong day. I have prayed on it and will continue to use God as my only mentour because if it was up to family and friends we would have broken up a long time ago and I would be devastated.

My advise is use that time to get to know each others living habits, likes, dislikes, what pushes each others buttons and what doesnt break your relationship will only make it stronger. One day at a time.

I think it is JG who is always saying on here (especially to those of you who are struggling with waiting for your SO to get there) that the real test of the strength of your relationship is when your SO is HERE with you...the waiting is nothing compared to that. And I couldn't agree more. Some have an easier time than others but I think you would be hard pressed to find someone that said their adjustment was a breeze.

Thanks for sharing Lovesponge. I had a hard time "sharing" at first too..

Amen to that!!!

Morning Yardies, my boo is sleeping so I had to come and catch up with everyone. I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am looking for another job because so pray for me in this economy. I love the job I have but I need more money and they told us from January no raises this year, so my boss is practically pushing me out the door because he knows I can make much more money elsewhere and that I deserve it. So the job search journey begins!!!

Me and my boo are doing OK, whoever said this was going to be easy, was lying. It has even gotten to the point of almost cancelling the wedding, but for now its still on. I am praying on it.

(F)(F)(F)(F) HAPPY WEDDING DAY DILLON (F)(F)(F)(F) may God bless you two with joy and happiness forever.

Hey Jawi, how are you feeling? Dont worry August 20, soon come.

Ells, welcome back. Sorry about work but enjoy you man this weekend.

Philly that lunch had me cracking up, you gotta give him a A for trying, how you feeling?

Nat hang in there NOA2 soon come, in the mean time enjoy that JA trip. I miss those trips already.

Irie congrats, that will be my next journey & Justica that was quick, this is going to be the one

Hang in there girl remember nothing worth having isnt worth working for. They say the first five years of marriage is the hardiest and especially intergrating cultures I'm sure adds a spin to it. Just pray on it and refrain fromlicking em pon de head as best you can...lol

(((((Lovesponge)))) I hope that things get easier for your adjustment with living together...and that you don't have to ponder cancelling the wedding again. I noticed that I am more critical and quick to start arguments over trivial things when there is a "larger more pressing" issue that I'm afraid to discuss. Once, I finally discuss it, the small arguments disappear/don't even happen.

I had a pretty rough day today in comparison since the 2nd surgery. However, I'm not going to let that get me down. I know beyond a doubt that I am finally on the road to full recovery. Thanks for asking.

I got a PM the other day about my process, so I figured I'd update my siggy and let yall know I filed for a non contest divorce that was finalized in April. We haven't spoken in a year and a half so I just didn't see the point in staying legally married just so I may be able to help him try again next year. He sent back the divorce papers with a love letter that I'd sent him a week after we got married....such a loser. Since I left, he's never had anything nice to say to me. I guess he's still bitter.

I'm just glad this chapter is officially closed.

Congrats on all the successful visas and marriages and good luck to all of you still in this process....you'll get through it!

:)

Hi Empress...glad to see you around. I often wondered about you...and whether you were close to gathering documents again to refile. Sorry that you guys couldn't work past it...but from your post it seems as if this was the best thing to happen to you. So are you saying he sent you a love letter replicating a love letter you wrote him when you first met? Whoa! I agree what a loser.

My ex-husband used to write me love letters with verses from love songs like Joe and Jahiem...I would become LIVID...everyone else thought it was cute. In hindsight, I realized that every lyric he copied...he truly meant from his heart...he just didn't know how to put it in his own words. He is a great guy...I just didn't love him the way a wife should love her husband. I'm glad that we are slowly finding our way back to friendship though.

Nat I thought the same thing, my original date was in june. (((Lovesponge)))

Did the two of you argue before he got here? Did you argue on the phone or when you were in JA?

For some reason this relationship is different for me... My Ex and I fought from very early in our relationship and we kept fighting through the 3 years we were together. He would say things that totally went against everything I felt in my soul. When I finally decided to leave him it was like a ton of bricks was lifted off me.

I refuse to live my days fighting... I have been single for 3 years because of that...

From the day I met this man we have agreed... we agree on so many important things.. child discipline, religion, politics, saving money...

When he talks about how to handle a situation it always resonates with me. He speaks the words in my heart, he has from the day we met.

I just don't know what we would argue about

I would love to hear from people like KK & Irie. Couples who have come a long way from the 90 days...

Did you get married right away?

Did you fight a lot at first? (I understand the adjustment can cause added pressure)

(L)

I lived in St Lucia for 6 months when I met Louis. We had alot of time to spend together. We may have had a couple disagreements but never an argument. I would get frustrated because of he was never ontime for things.. but I got over it... I was in St Lucia and happy and it felt like I was on permanent vacation. Not alot of stresses..... Tierra wasnt in school yet (went to daycare) and things were cheap!

I went back again for a couple weeks before the interview. We were always in a good mood, happy happy! Then during the waiting process.... still happy. I couldnt think of a reason why we wouldnt get along when he got here....

Then he got here. We would argue a little. I had so many more stresses. Tierra was in school, I am paying a much higher rent... I had to take of the 3 of us now and I wanted everyone to be happy. We waiting 2 months to get married. I wanted him to settle in a bit and I wanted it to be a nice summer day when we married.

Now when we argue it is mostly about my daughter. She is a spoiled American girl... but again... we will get over all that. Its been almost a year now and we get over little bumps all the time.

I am a stressful person, I like things clean and taken care of. I worry alot... Louis is the opposite. So we have some compromising to do... and I am sure it will happen.
