Portland I’m trying to understand the Facebook addiction. the invites are so repetitive- What do you enjoy most about it?

I enjoy Facebook cause it's a way to keep up with peoples' lives without the time-consuming task of calling/emailing/visiting them. I have friends on Facebook from elementary school, high school, college, work, church, clubs, etc. It's a great way to see what people have going on & find out about events quickly and anonymously.

We're planning our 10 yr high school reunion and it's definitely made easy with Facebook, since a good half of my class is on there. I almost feel like there's no need to go to the reunion cause I can see pictures, relationship status, jobs, etc online.

It's also a good way to share information such as pictures & videos or articles you find online.

Okay..I want to go see the Color Purple play...it's showing with Fantasia...hubby says price for ticket is unreasonable ($93). Which I agree that it is a little steep....but I think I really want to see it. On his hand..he could care less...but would go if I wanted him too. Dilemna...has anyone seen the play? is it worth $93?

I feel you every time I used to see that commercial I would look at my door saying it could be me. But you know what when you think about it we never have seen any of those people interviewed on the news for winning you just always see a commercial.

Why can't I think of the name of the show he hosted for years.

Yes, it's me! Now I have two VJ yardie threads open....today's & the page I'm still back at trying to catch up on.

Quick update but I have TONS of stories already. He really likes the city but doesn't really like that my neighborhood is mostly Chinese....he started school the Wednesday before last & is really enjoying it....says everyone is very encouraging there. Only 2 days of school a week until later when he progresses more but on his days off he likes to get on my bike (thank goodness it's blue & not pink or something...LOL) & ride in Golden Gate Park. He is finding his way around & learning to ride the bus that goes from our house to my work & then walk to school from there.

The packing was easy since he didn't have a whole bunch of things but I made sure we got the few things that really meant something to him like his soccer trophy & picture of his Grandma w/her grandkids (him included) as well as a few other pictures & things. We tried to leave the house nice & neat but now it's up to the relatives as to how his Mom will find it when she returns to JA.

He liked flying....except for take-off & landing! He liked seeing things from way up high & I let him have the window seat on each flight. He didn't care for turbulence though & squeezed my hand on one rough stretch & we both had a rough time on the flight back from Miami to SF. I had bad mosquito bites (mi no like crab/mango/rainy/hurricane season) & scratched them....I got some kind of infection & by the time we landed in SF, my foot was twice as big as normal from swelling & my feet looked awful (that's another story for later though). He was okay except it was too long for him to sit & he told me later he had to pee so bad but didn't want to get up & use the restroom cause he didn't really know how! He didn't even tell me he was having that issue. The other thing was the dry plane recirculated air but I remedied the scratchy throats w/cough drops!

My bed is a full size & with the stories he's been telling me that I do in my sleep, we might just have to get a KING size eventually! So far I have smacked him across the face & neck with my arm, stolen all the covers, elbowed him HARD & have talked in my sleep A LOT! I had no idea I talked in my sleep! One night I said a girlfriend's name that had him questioning if it was a guy or girl (Stacey = girl), another night I said, "mmmm....tastes good!" & something about my radio (I use a 2-way at work) all in the same night, the night before last I called for my Mom twice & last night I YELLED that so-n-so WAS NOT IN THE OFFICE RIGHT NOW! I'm truly shocked that I'm such a bad bed-sharer!

I've missed all of you too but I just HAVE TO catch up or I'll feel like I've missed the most important news ever....what you all have been up to!

Ells, I am SOOO laffn out loud at the sleeping stories!!! Thank goodness I'm home and not at work!

Wakey, I am not really addicted, cause I really only go on there every couple of weeks, but this week I have been on there almost everyday cause, my sis wont email her baby shower pics and my friend are the same way that have kids, keep telling new pics on facebook.. So once I log on and start seeing all the updates in ppl lives you get sucked in going from profile to profile and before you know its night and nothings done!! So I try to stay away.. But I have connect to so many ppl from primary school thru facebook... so its really a great tool to keep in touch!!!

I was in shock about Michael Jackson - We were at the festival last night, and texts started flying - he's dead, it's fake, it's real,...... we didn't know what was going on - Bowie stopped playing and we went to this little pub to get dinner and found out it was real - The pub put on a station that was playing non stop Michael, and everyone in the place was dancing and singing together - Which made for a late night, but it was a pretty cool way to mourn the loss of a legend - it was like we all bonded (total strangers) and were sharing memories of growing up with Michael.

Well, let me get dressed and to work - chat soon!
