That is the Federal Law in every state for Child Support

Here u get to sue the dad no matter what. So what if he doesn’t have a job he still has to pay something and then they give him a certain amount of time to get a job. If not he gets locked up, his driver’s license can be revoked and it goes on his credit. He sits in jail for a while and then they let him out to find a job and if not well back to the slammer buddy…

If you take him back to court, the Judge will enforce it.

I have issues with this and maybe because I don't have kids...but I've seen it done to other people. Actually a mother. See in Florida in order to get any public benefits..insurance/welfare for child you are caring you. You must file child support on the parents.

I just don't see how locking them up, revoking his/her driver's license is even going to "help" (using that word loosely) get a job. It's like a lost cause. Now they have a record...and can't drive to work...which means the likelihood of them finding a new one is going to be harder. So they already aren't paying..I'm sure they are not worried about no credit score.

Then the effect on the child...I mean now are they really going to try to be in their life now. Shoot...they will be in jail half the time.

There has just to be a better way to enforce child support.

Just my view on it. I admit it might be because I haven't experienced this.

That is a tough situation - that's what my kids are in right now with the Dad and stepmom. She has WAY more rules than Dad could ever dream of and more than I do, and I'm pretty firm.

i think it's a FANTASTIC idea, in the sense that men OFTEN play the system as regards child support, ie they pretend they can't get job or they aren't working.

Now, they got the woman pregnant, the CHILD is there, if it's working in MCDONALD"S they had better take it. Now the ONLY way I feel sorry for them is if there are NO jobs to be had, but I am SURE there's SOMETHING there.

Island you had me read all the way from page 5 to 29 trying to hear to see if you posted about JR's interview... You got to fill me in when you get the info!!

Sorry Chica - I should've pm you. Anyway, I got the details from Auntie this morning - they didn't ask Jr one single question! She just handed in the forms, they asked Auntie if Anthony was already in the US and if Jr was living with her. We had written a letter signed by both of us giving her our permission to take him to the interview. She said she waited 1 1/2 hrs and it was done within minutes.

She also said that everyone knew Jr got his visa just by the smile on his face. She said he glowed all the way home! :luv:

Now we are working on when I am going to fly down to get him. He graduates July 1st from 6th grade so I'm trying to get there for that so I can at least take photos and videos for his MIA parents.

That's so nice of you. You're great!! and will make a great step mom...Congrats to JR on graduation.

NAt, you need two phones - one so you can call and get Barbara, ask her a fluff question, and dial for someone else while you have Barbara on the line

:rofl::rofl:

KK, that's just a few of the things they can do. They can get around that if the get a job that requires them to have a driver's license. This is all about responsbility and accoutability. I use to help out at a pro bono office and I saw plenty of fathers there trying to collect support; one guy had 4 girls to support, the mother just have them, then runs off...I just shook my head;

you know if you married and file jointly and both of you get $$$$$$$ FAT REFUND and he owes child support, neither one of you will any of that tax refund;

kk the list goes on

Sorry DaDa...but this whole time I thought you lived in a cool city like Philly!!!

Just threw me off when you mentioned Pittsburgh. That explains the reason you want to move.

I guess I'm kinding speaking before I have even had a chance to go to Pittsburgh. I'll be there for one day/night in September.

Girl if I lived in Philly I would have been hooked up with Philly and Regal by now. No girl I'm stuck in Pittsburgh and looking for way out. The city thinks were coming back with the new casino and such being built and our economy and job market are doing pretty good but its the whole city as a whole. I think I have just grew tired of it and I want out!!! I want more for my kids and I am so sick of the snow!!!

LOL Dada I know thats right you are always on the go and you would be beating down my door dragging me out to have some fun!! RegAl is gonna box me if we don't hook up by the weekend LOL

I just got off the phone with the direct line Roxie gave me yesterday.

After a ~5 min hold time, Barbara came on the phone & had me give her my receipt # and name. She looked it up and saw when they received it (Dec 24), then said "Let me see what we're currently working." She was silent for a minute, typing, then said "Our current processing time is 6 months. Call back on June 24." (The usual line.) This let me know that she realized that they were currently working files submitted AFTER mine, so she didn't give me a date.

I said "I know that it is 6 months, but I need to make a work decision this week and am hoping for a little more information. I know that you've already approved over half of January submitters, and even a few February ones." So she said she'll check to see where mine is in the process.

Another minute of silence, then "Your file is where it's supposed to be." What??? :wacko: That's so ambiguous. She said call back June 24 if I don't hear anything, but I should hear something soon.

I'll call back in a few minutes to see what the next person says, as Shemmy recommended.

LMAO Nat I know are stalking them, don't give up girl until you get some answers!

Philly, we going through the same thing with my niece (my brothers daughter)...she's 15 now and been smelling herself since she turn 13. She tried to fight me last year and I had to throw her down and I do mean that. She's about 6ft. 3in and 270 and her mom is afraid of her but not me. So, she felt she could try and slap me and that was the end of it. Her mom tried to bend her when it was too late, if a did mi, mi woudah kick ar baxide dung from lang time. I grew up different and knew my place. I had to respect every and all adults and know when to speak when spoken to. At my age, I can't even say HELL or DAMN in front of my mom or dad or aunt and uncles, I just can't, it won't come out my mouth. I pray your boys will find their way, I'm wondering if they're jealous of hubby.

sorry lawny I had to LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :rofl::rofl::rofl:

But seriuosly we have to bend the tree when it is young or else a pure trouble later on.

I LOVE MY RAMPING SHOP!!

Girl I bet you see a major improvement!! When you take away all there toys they will definitely get there act together because they don’t know how to live without them. Every time I take away something from my oldest I see a huge improvement!!

I remember the one time I really tortured my son. He made me mad as heck so I took all his things and put them in a box and taped the box and put the box in the middle of his room and DARED him to open it. I turned into Clint Eastwood and told him to make my day... Needless to say the box was never opened and his whole attitude changed. Lately when his chores aren’t done I have been confiscating his cell phone for a few days since I think his talking and texting or a big interruption with my chores.

It’s a shame that he gets rewarded for doing his chores I remember back my day I didn’t get rewarded for doing my chores. They were to be done right the first just because my mom said so... I tell you we spoil these kids and we get less respect in return. I always said what did I do wrong.. The things my kids do I would have never done. Now granted I wasn’t a good child buy no way possible but still I didn’t test my mom like my son test me.

i've always thought that as well

that doing all of that just makes his chance of getting a job worse

but if nothing else it should serve as a warning to men that they shouldn't be spreading their seed casually

but some ppl never learn

KK, I can understand that, what solution would you suggest, other than the custodian parent just take their lumps and forget about the other parent paying.

I agree - it was good, but didn't come close to Coldest Winter - Supposedly Midnight is a character from Coldest Winter, but I can't remember him.

Has anyone read Eric Jerome Dickey? I love his books -

I read Jen Sylvania, such a pretty fat - while I was in Jamaica - I almost peed my pants laughing at it - if anyone has ever dieted / had weight issues, you can totally relate.

Sus I love E Jerome Dickey I believe he has a new release "Dying for Revenge" Part of a trilogy!
