Congrats Dillon on your big day. I wish I could be there with you...but you know that I'm there in heart and spirit.

A and I decided on September 9, 2009 for our big day at the courthouse.

However, my girlfriend wants to organize a wedding on the lake here...so we may be changing the date to a weekend date if it all works out. She is going to ask a dear friend of hers that owns a lakehouse if she can host a wedding there. She wants me to have my "beach" wedding instead of getting married at a courthouse. I think it is a really sweet gesture...even if it doesn't pan out.

I told A that we will still have our beach wedding next year once my body can tolerate travel. I have a question for those of you that plan to renew vows...are you renewing on your original wedding date? If not, which wedding date will you recognize as your anniversary? My question is because I really wanted our wedding anniversary to fall on our dating anniversary. However, it did not work out like that for us because of the immigration timeline. We have to satisfy the 90 day requirement for the government...and so the date we get married will not have as much significance. But, if we renew our vows and do an actual ceremony...I'm confused about what date would be celebrated for anniversaries.

Heck I just confused myself with this post...so I understand if noone is able to make heads or tails out of what my question is. LOL

Hey all!

I walked on the treadmill today at 2.5 for 30 minutes. Now, I'm back in the bed.

LOL - I understood you S! I wondered the same thing - if you don't renew on the exact date, which do you celebrate? But I guess the answer is whichever daymn one you want - or BOTH!!!

Glad to hear you did the treadmill and are up and around more - but you should nap!

My son usually stays in his own bed through the night unless he has a bad dream...

If he ever came in our room tho, I know my honey would let him crawl right up between us and hug him tight...

Then we would just take him back to bed when he fell asleep...

I do this anyway, sleeping with that boy is like sleeping with a tornado

LOL - I was walking back to her room with her, but I'm too tired! My daugther is a kicker so I don't mind sleeping with her, but when there is 3 in the bed, my ribs take a beating. That's why I started saying she could slelep on the floor but always saying your bed would be so much more comfortable.....:bonk:

Do the courthouse thing and then have your friend plan the Lake House Wedding for your anniversary!

Then you satisfy the 90 day requirement, and you can celebrate you anniversary on the day that means the most!

Glad to know you are up and moving, please take it easy (F)

 ...u lucky mi live far. As far as dates, we met, got engaged, engagement party, got married on the 23rd, so as long as it's the 23rd of any month we'll renew our vows then. He wants a private ceremony for our renewal (don't know what he's up to this time) since we had to cancel our plans for next month which is our 1 year anniversary (but that worked out well) THANKS sus! in our favor...

Ladies; if you ever get a chance to go to Sandals White Castle -- do it!

Jawi, do what makes you both happy -- that's nice of your friend. I got married in a courthouse and I could have married my husband standing in the middle of a bush some where in Jamaica and all I would remember is the beautiful smile on his face. I didn't care where we were, I will never forget the look on his face and the tears that came afterwards...

....when it hurts to look back and you're scared to look ahead LOOK beside you and I'll be there.....

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Hey all!

I walked on the treadmill today at 2.5 for 30 minutes. Now, I'm back in the bed.

Jawi - please be careful on the treadmill. It takes me almost 40 minutes to do 2.5 then again I'm a slower walker.

Our anniversary is January 7th but we also celebrate August 7th..the day we met. We really wanted to renew our vows this Aug but we would rather party instead  This January will be our 5th anniversary but it's cold here and no one can travel to JA right after Christmas so I gave up on that idea. We're going on a short cruise instead. Maybe we can do it on the boat

To really confuse the situation - we had our reception on March 19th so people think that's our anniversary  .

To answer your question - it can be two different dates. You can do whatever and whenever you want to renew your vows.
