when somebody mentioned.. ways to make the kids more comfortable, mine havnet been to ja so i started introducing them to the food.. since most likey roger would be cooking some of it and my kids are SUPER picky.. i didn't want them to spit out any eating it for the first time in front of him LOL kidding.... a likkle LOL

also i got them used to knocking on my door first and not just coming in.. i started leaving them alone for short periods of time and REQUIRING that they give me that time cuz we are normally attached at the hip at ALL times...

food has been a challenge in our house too cuz both my son and my husband are really picky. they have both come around tho (after i forced them and said i can't keep up with cooking ten different things in one day). my son still won't eat crazy stuff like octopus or goat balls..

yEAH THE KNOCKIN ON THE DOOR THING I HAVE TO GET MY KIDS ACCUSTOMED TOO ALSO BEING THAT MY DOOR IS NORMALLY OPEN ... tHEY ARE SORTA USED TO THE FOOD .... NOT EVERYTHING BUT SOME AND I HAVE TRIED MAKING THEM SOME OF THE FOOD (NOT ALWAYS TURNING OUT LOL)

island, what did you decide to do about your stepsons flight? is he coming soon?

Yes, he's coming on the 3rd - flying Jetblue unaccompanied...... but I talked to 2 different Jetblue reps and made them tell me the whole process from the minute he arrives at the airport to board the plane. Air Jamaica wanted over $500 for a one way ticket - mi rass!!

Hi StoneLove...how you feeling these days?

Feeling good...a little under the weather...got caught out in the rain a couple of times...but all and all feeling ok...got some good news to share...hubby received a little raise at his job (been working not even two months yet) and they put him on a full-time schedule instead of just working the weekends...so i am proud of him.... ...i guess they really like his work ethics...

Congrats!! That's a great accomplishment! I think work ethics get you much farther than degrees.

i agree island.. i believe that is why i have gotten so far w/out my degree (and the grace of God of course) but now my work ethic is dwindling b4 my eyes, its bad ya'll.. maybe its time to get that degree

Do they like it Quana? My kids still won't eat it. This morning A was frying plaintain and they asked what he was cooking. When he told them they both say - hey Mom makes that sometimes, but we don't like it!!

I also had to break them in on respecting closed doors, which was new. Another thing I had was my daughter sneaking in my bed at night. Now if she comes in she can sleep on the floor, but if A doesn't make it too bed early enough she is lightening fast to jump into his spot.

Congrats Dillon on your big day. I wish I could be there with you...but you know that I'm there in heart and spirit.

A and I decided on September 9, 2009 for our big day at the courthouse.

However, my girlfriend wants to organize a wedding on the lake here...so we may be changing the date to a weekend date if it all works out. She is going to ask a dear friend of hers that owns a lakehouse if she can host a wedding there. She wants me to have my "beach" wedding instead of getting married at a courthouse. I think it is a really sweet gesture...even if it doesn't pan out.

I told A that we will still have our beach wedding next year once my body can tolerate travel. I have a question for those of you that plan to renew vows...are you renewing on your original wedding date? If not, which wedding date will you recognize as your anniversary? My question is because I really wanted our wedding anniversary to fall on our dating anniversary. However, it did not work out like that for us because of the immigration timeline. We have to satisfy the 90 day requirement for the government...and so the date we get married will not have as much significance. But, if we renew our vows and do an actual ceremony...I'm confused about what date would be celebrated for anniversaries.

Heck I just confused myself with this post...so I understand if noone is able to make heads or tails out of what my question is. LOL

Hey all!

I walked on the treadmill today at 2.5 for 30 minutes. Now, I'm back in the bed.

:rofl::rofl:

see thats why i wanted to get all that out of the way cuz girl.. my kids are sooo mushy mushy w/ their mama.. and i didn't want them to think that cuz roger is here they couldn't do certain things anymore.. i wanted them to just realize that mama's need time to themselves no matter if i got a man or not..

at first they would whine.. mama.. are u done yet??? and my youngest would test me and sit right at my door and act like she was gonna open it  .. and girl they didn't want NOTHING.. just wanted to SEE me..it took me enforcing it EVERYDAY.. and w/ them coming back from their dad's house next week..im sure the process will start all over

as far as food.. my oldest is good, she loves what we've tried, but my youngest will eat curry chicken but not much else.. good thing that is roger's fav.. LOL

My son usually stays in his own bed through the night unless he has a bad dream...

If he ever came in our room tho, I know my honey would let him crawl right up between us and hug him tight...

Then we would just take him back to bed when he fell asleep...

I do this anyway, sleeping with that boy is like sleeping with a tornado
