finesse, i can imagine how scared u are... GIRL..

QUESTION:

my friend that married an african used a lawyer for their process.. she said the lawyer made a comment to her about why she had not met her hubby's children and didnt she think that was important..

now i guess i can see his point that if the child is out of order or the spouse doesn't hve good parenting skills that it could cause problems, BUT do u think that would keep u from marrying somebody?? was meeting his kids or WOULD meeting a potential mate's kids be necessary b4 moving on into marriage??

For me - absolutely before marriage - cause those kids become yours - his kids wouldn't stop me from marrying him, but I would want them to feel like they are a part of our life from the get go, and they would need to know me as a person before as a step mom -

I too agree with this..I can't imagine not. Just for introduction. If they never met have they even had a phone conversation?

yep.. they talk on the phone like once a week.. in THEIR situation. i think the lawyer was just trying to keep my friend's eyes open. alot of things he did and said reminded me of those CO at the embassy.. which i told her was a good thing.. he has ur best interests in mind..

when she told me, i thought i hope to meet roger's kids b4 we get married, but it would not change the fact that i want to marry him..ive talked on the phone w/ them.

but then i was thinking maybe there is something in all of us INTERACTING that could change my perception of roger or the life i think we could have as a family

exactly, q...there is alot to be said about the way someone interacts with their children...

I agree.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

OH that's right ..I did mix them up..

Yeah the bathroom scene was funny with the girl doing the taebo moves and still getting beat down in the end

Intimacy, like charity, begins at home. If we cannot be intimate with ourselves, we have no way to bring to intimacy with another person.

Intimacy with ourselves takes time. We need time for rest, time for walks, time for quiet, and time to tune into to ourselves. We cannot completely fill up our lives with activities and become intimate with ourselves. Nor can we just sit quietly indefinitely and become intimate with ourselves. We have to have the time and energy to be our lives and to do our live in order to establish and intimate relationship with ourselves.

Surprisingly, as we become intimate with ourselves, we discover our connection with others

Intimacy....In/to/me/see...

********************************************************************************

....when it hurts to look back and you're scared to look ahead LOOK beside you and I'll be there.....

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
