hey ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am back at work and let mi tell oonu bout mr roger's arrival.. it was just like i have seen him everyday.. its so natural w/ us we never feel like ppl that haven't seen each other in mnths. he said immigration went well.. he didn't get a hard time at all.. the 3 hr layover was good tho becuz he said it did take a good 1 1/2 hrs to get thru customs.. he rode the train to his next gate and still had an hour to spare.. he was glad he had a layover cuz by the time he got to dallas he just had to wait on his bags since he had already been thru customs in ATL

tuesday we had went grocery shopping which was nice to have somebody help me and then he noticed my mom and i had rigged my bed so he went to lowes (i thought of philly and home depot LOL) and got some tools to put it together properly.. and then we went to speedzone (go kart, mini golf and arcade)for a couple of hrs..

my fam and close friends had a lil get together at the house for him and he met everybody, he was nervous, but as i told him my mom is cool.. roger was quiet, but then again he always is.. he looked comfortable so thats what mattered.. he conversated w/ everyone.. it helped that he knew some of my friends already from our ja trip...

yesterday, we went by the job so he could meet my friends, then ice skating which was very HARD!!!! we were both sweating and had to take MANY breaks.. roger only went around once tho BUSTA, he been hollering about ice skating since i met him and he only go round ONCE!.. and i went twice then we walked around the mall.. and went to see the taking of pelham 123.. i was VERY tired.

as far as food, i made ya'll proud! i made eggs, bacon and toast both mornings and stir fry last night (he liked)..

fast food, he had long john silvers (too greasy) and taco bell (alright) and el regio's, this authentic mexican joint (alright)..

2night i am making pork chops, we'll see how he likes that..

we are enjoyin each other and working as a team, .i started w/ the dishes last night and he was like, baby u not gonna leave nothing for me to do.. (smile)..

as dara agreed, i recognize i have to stop going into this tour guide mode.. i fought my desire to take him to the lake last night.. its like quana.. the boy is gonna be here for mnths, u don't have to do everything the first week..

roger is speaking alot more patois w/ me.. lhe spoke more this last 3 days than he have in 2 years LOL i feel like all of u now, like i got a real jamaican mate

he said some lady was just staring at him yesterday.. (rolls eyes) its cool, i mean i know he gonna get attention.. i just hope he don't let it go to his head which he says it won't.. but we'll see.. i told him don't make me BUMBACLAAT his rass! LOL..

overall everyting CRISS!!

Quanna mi gyal smiley-hug008.gif you sound sooooo happy I can feel your smile through the post smiley-happy082.gif

Yuh got me dizzy reading of all the things you and Roger did already LOL not a dull moment I see. Mi glad fi ya trust mi, enjoy every minute sis! (F)

nat i was reading in this thread ---> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry3036875

someone was able to get contact info for a couple ppl

one person even emailed a director for USCIS and got a response

maybe some of that info will be useful to you

Thanks, Bunz. I perused that thread & downloaded the contact list. I'll use it if I fall outside the processing time.

Oh Nat...I know that this is heart wrenching for you. You have been a trooper through it all. I wish I could ease your burden and tell you that you are approved. It makes no sense that they no longer think of these cases as human beings with feelings behind the number and the file.

When this happened with my ex-husband and I...I went personally to my Congressman's office. I refused to let them treat me like I was another piece of paper. I wanted them to see the emotion...the hurt and the anxiety it was causing me. It worked. Back then TSC would answer the phone and hang it up...after you spent hours (literally) trying to get a person on the line...sitting on hold for hours just to be hung up on. My co-workers and I would come to work early in the morning and all dial the number. Then, I would run to the desk of the person that got someone first. There was no email updates...no Igor's list...no NVC or anything. Trust me I know your pain.

What nice coworkers you have! Thanks for the encouragement. I haven't read to it yet, but from some comments I see, I believe your man was approved today! Congratulations. :star:

I am home sick today and working from home. smiley-sick005.gif I have been spotting and have cramping so Hubby won't let me go to work and take that long journey to NJ and is taking great care of me smiley-sick005.gif but has me wrapped up in hot blankets  LOL. trying to get an appointment at the Dr. is like trying to get an appointment to see Obama :dead: they say go to the ER :ranting: you can be seen in a few days. This is the second and final time I am dealing with this, I am changing my primary care physician today!

Philly, the thing I like about my PCP is that he has an assistant who can treat patients if he's not available. It's like having 2 doctors in one. She's available much more than he is, so I can often get a last minute appointment to see one or the other. You might look into a PCP with an assistant. Hope you feel better!

Quana, Glad to hear things are going so well -

And tell him the slow talking Texans are not only noticed by Jamaicans - The rest of the US thinks you are slow too! smiley-taunt002.gif

 Booooooooo! Not everyone in Texas talks slow (I hope you only meant we're slow when talking)!

Quana, your ice skating story had me CRACKING UP. I went ice skating at the Galleria mall nearby for the first time last year and after going around once, i was through! But my friends said I can't pay that much money to only go one time.... so I skated around one more time. THEN I was through.

:ot: who on here went natural from relaxer to perm and how long did it take?

Shemmy you've seen my hair, I'm wondering if I should just cut it all off again or try grow out the rest of the perm with the length I have now.

I would let it grow out for 6-8 months then cut off the perm..which won't be much. What made you decide to go natural?

 thats exactly what i did, only had like 2 inches left of relaxed hair.. i couldnt bear to cut it all off at once..i wore roller sets cuz the 2 different hair types will get on ur nerves..

Not me. I went to the salon for a trim, and spontaneously told the beautician to cut it all off. I had less than an inch of hair when I went natural.

Ok so I'm caught up..and have a question for anyone that has been heavy (over 100 lbs and lost it)

:ot: So as you guys know I've been working out with this girl from work for past year and half. I'm more toned and lost 20lbs but it's been stalled since Nov last year. I've missed a few workouts if I take time off work and my two weeks of vacation last month. Anywho..I told my friend (the wanna be trainer) that I read that I may not be losing because when jogging I'm conditioning the heart and getting healthy but I'm not in a fatburn zone. From what I read I need to do something that keeps the heart rate steady (like a brisk walk) and not something where I'm gasping for air like I do with the 30 min run. She went off! Told me that I'm going backwards and I just don't want to work. Told me that if I would be consistent (ahhh hello a year and half is what I call consistentcy) the weight would come off. She refuse to speak to me now and told me to work out on my own (cool)

But my question is…….. who's right..

damn thank heavens u posted this

because i used to jog alot and NOTHING was happening for me

i'm trying to do at least 20 mins of interval training daily

but i want to work it up to 40 mins

wakey......YOU are the one that is right......you have to walk (and not fast either) to have consistent weight loss......you lose more with a steady paced walk that a speed walk or run......what a dummy your friend is and she thinks she knows it all and she dont know shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......ok thats all.....slow and steady wins the race!!!!

Hey Island,

I just read your question, my mom had my little brother flighing alone since he was two, back then it was only $50 for the flight attendant to escort him, but he was fine... Just make sure its a direct flight, once they check him in the flight attendant will be responsible for him from that point. Before 911 the use to let parents and go to the gate and wait until their kids get on the flight but I think that's all change now.

At think you do need a note or something though because once the flight attendant brings in thru the gate they will be asking for ID and making sure the you are infact the person listed on the note that they should turn him over to... Atleast that's how it use to work..

We use to do that alot for my grandmother too, since she was old and need assistance..
