JJJJJAAAAAWWWWWIIIII!!!

Hey lady so glad to see you were up and at it for a little while dis morning. That has to account for something its only been a few days since your surgery and already your using fingers. Umm wait that didn’t come out right but you know what I mean. I read you feel stronger this time and I wonder if it has something to do with the surgery or a certain person soon coming to GA?? Well what ever it is it doesn’t matter I’m just happy you feel like you are on your way to recovery and I pray that you are. Keep getting stronger mami one day at a time.

on the subject of people not going to the doctor my parents are like that my mom says she would rather not know ...

and i am firm believer that you should go to the doctor so this is something i battle my parents on. My dad thankfully has been going since he got real sick in november now im working on my mom .

My friends back home have lost so many of their parents because they don't want to go back to the doctor once they're diagnosed with something. In 2002, four of my friends lost their dads to prostate cancer, something is is preventable and treatable if caught in time. Once of my friend's father is fair skinned and when he came to pick me up at the airport I walked by him because I didn't regonized him. He had gotten so dark because the cancer was spreading through his body. By the time he agreed to treatment it was too late...cho man

thats terrible my father had congestive heart failure and ended up in icu ..but thank god he has kept up with his doctors appt .I have to stay on him about what he eats though ( blood pressure and potassium levels are too high)

the scary thing about cancer is its an ever evolving disease

every day you hear about something else that causes it or that can lead to it

those genetically modified foods are slowly killing our bodies

They told her it was agressive the day she was admitted in the hospital. To tell you the truth, she didn't want anymore meds and I don't blame her, I worked 6 years on the oncology ward and I had to learn to harden my heart especially when it came to pediatric oncology. Whenever I would go to Jamaica I would bring back sand in little bottles for the patients (adults and kids)...she looked fine on Sunday, very happy even cussed me out (like she always does)

Yeah my uncle passed away last year after being a diabetic, having a brain tumor, quadruple bypass and receiving a pacemaker. He stopped taking medication after the bypass, he said he couldn’t do it anymore and beside with the brain tumor they felt it was only a matter of time except it was heart failure that did it. But he insisted he didn’t want to be cut anymore and he wanted to live med free.

Sounds like you were a true friend and she really enjoyed her last days.

you can't even rely on the fact that it doesn't run in yoru family

i heard a VERY scary statistic the other day

i don't remember the exact figure but is like 3/4 of the women who have breast cancer don;t have any history of it in their family

i was shocked because i always thought not having a history of cancer in your family is a plus

No, I don't think it would be at all. They are being insensitive and rude themselves.

One of my best friends was diagnosed with breast cancer when we were 32 - No family history, she was a vegetarian, athletic,...... everything that is supposedly "right" - She underwent radical treatment, into remission for a year, and then was diagnosed with leukemia - which has been up and down ever since. About 2 years ago I didn't think she would make the week - she weighed 70 lbs (she's 5'10") and was in a wheelchair - But she fought back, and is still fighting -
