Hey ladies wah gwaan??

Ooh I caught up on some movies this weekend. I seen Slumdog Millionaire and I must say this was an EXCELLENT EXCELLENT film. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole dang time wondering what was going to happen next. This movie I could watch a second time...

Loved Slumdog Millionaire.

Not me! I went into that movie thinking it was about a game show (light & fluffy). I wondered why a movie about a game would be rated R.

I left the movie traumatized. It was way too much for my system. After seeing that, I knew to just completely avoid R rated movies. The one I'd seen before Slumdog Millionaire was Wanted (about the group of assassins). Never again.

Ooh I loved Wanted!!! See R rated is where you'll find me!!!

I don't understand how people say they can't cook. Cooking = reading a recipe. If someone asks me if I can cook, I tell them that I can read. Now, it may not be gourmet cooking, but you can still do the basics.

For example, chicken broccoli & cheese casserole: cook the broccoli (put a steamables bag in the microwave), cook the chicken (put in pan until it isn't pink), add the chicken, broccoli, mushrooms, chopped onions and cheese in a casserole dish. Bake for X minutes. Like... you just read & follow the directions and voila! A meal!

Explain to me, please, what it means to not be able to cook. I want to understand.

Nat, cooking to me is more about the seasoning. You have to be able to taste the food before you even begin to cook it. It’s an art, a vision. You know how you can smell food and are like, ooooh I know that is going to taste good. Well with me it’s not going to smell or taste good at all unless you like bland, burnt or watered down food. My daughter just told me last night (I brought steamed broccoli, didn’t feel like even trying to cook) see mommy these are the one’s I like. Yours are watered down but I eat them anyway because I have to eat all my food...:rofl: Poor baby, thanks for being such a good girl!!! :luv:

So when we pull up to the club right away I get my picture taken with the most broke..some guy handing out fliers. I felt like I was in Jamaica due to his comment that he wants me to pay him to get my picture taken with him. I was like #######!

That happened a lot when I spent a month in a few countries in Africa (especially in The Gambia). If you took a picture of someone, they wanted money. Sometimes we'd give it to them. Other times we'd make it look like we were taking a picture of someone in the group, even if we were zooming in on the local.

he WILL cook finesse and he says the same thing.. not to worry that we can do it together..WOW.. u make it sound so fun, maybe i will be ok..

i am too much of a perfectionist i guess.. i hate when i don't know how to do something well.. i try to sneak my way out of doing it all.. but i am learning.. u are right.. i should JUST DO IT..thanks!!!

well, practice makes perfect. i surprise myself all the time, and my friends, my family...even my husbands jamaican friends are like dyam, you cooked this?

I don't understand how people say they can't cook. Cooking = reading a recipe. If someone asks me if I can cook, I tell them that I can read. Now, it may not be gourmet cooking, but you can still do the basics.

well i can answer for myself.. personally its a figure of speech . of course i can cook cuz i gotta eat and i have 2 kids so can't go out all the time.. granted u can read a recipe, that is not MY def of a cook.. i mean ppl like my homegirl or my sista or my mom that don't own 1 cookbook but u are guaranteed to eat ur plate and try and take one home..

all the things that can go wrong w/ a meal it most likely will happen when i cook. so i don't cook WELL and as i said b4.. if don't do it well id rather not do it at all, so that keeps me from getting the practice i need to get better.. :)

people drive me nuts! We are going to Ocean City in July for a long weekend - 3 of us are going down Thurs - Sun (was supposed to be 4), and 3 more weren't sure if they could come - this weekend they said they were coming down on Friday, so I emailed them the link to where I booked - now they have an attitude cause they thought I booked a room for all of us - Hello, we are ADULTS, not college partiers - 6 women in 1 room with 1 bathroom is way too many people - For one night, maybe - for an entire weekend?

can you even have 6 people in 1 room?

U can as long as you arrive at different times. I once went to Atlantic City and I swear there were about 20 Asians in one room. I know they are petite people but dang talk about saving money on a room.
