....when it hurts to look back and you're scared to look ahead LOOK beside you and I'll be there.....

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Let me tell my outdoor shower story.. I was dating this other Jamaican before D.. and we went to stay at the Rockhouse (gorgeous). Well, the showers were outdoors. My ex went left for a while and I went out to take a shower. They give you a key..What happened to the key you ask???...I left it inside the room on the bed along with the towel I'd planned to dry off with. That's right showering and singing away for like an hour and when finished the knob to the door wouldn't turn. I tried to pick the lock with my comb and nothing. I sat there for a couple of hours embarrassed as he$$, crying, yelling for help, and being eaten by huge mosqitoes. No one came because it was so secluded. Then I heard the upstairs guess come in their room and started yelling for help. They shimmed me a towel and called the front desk (they came and unlocked it with only light laughter). I was mortified the rest of my trip.

I know I'm late but I have went back to catch up and this story had me rollin!!!!!!! Whoo Wakey I can't even imagine.... By the way how is your sister?

Jawi sends her love! She is only in pain when she moves :crying: but she is in good spirits.

Intimacy, like charity, begins at home. If we cannot be intimate with ourselves, we have no way to bring to intimacy with another person.

Intimacy with ourselves takes time. We need time for rest, time for walks, time for quiet, and time to tune into to ourselves. We cannot completely fill up our lives with activities and become intimate with ourselves. Nor can we just sit quietly indefinitely and become intimate with ourselves. We have to have the time and energy to be our lives and to do our live in order to establish and intimate relationship with ourselves.

Surprisingly, as we become intimate with ourselves, we discover our connection with others

whoo.. ya'll are talking up in HERE!!

philly.. girl i feel for u.. its gonna take time girl.. u know i am dreading that day when i have to be in ur shoes, .. its hard ESP when u are REALLY close w/ ur kids b4 another man comes.. NO MATTER how much time u spend w/ them it seems they have these feelings.. i would do extra for the kids and go on more play dates, hoping that when i get on the phone w/ roger they would be OKAY.. NOOOOO still attitude sometimes..

it has gotten better but i know when he comes that will be another adjustment..

like princess said, just continue to be open to him and talk w/ him.. hubby talking to him helps too, even tho ur son might not act like it at first.. u take notice when someone shows care and concern for u, even if u are a stubborn teen..

i don't blame u for being stern too.. after all the crying and taliking, trying to understand her point of view.. i finally told my oldest, u don't have to like him, but he is an adult and u WILL respect him and respect me when i am on the phone.

Thanks girl, it is rough but I had to be crazy to think that it would be such a smooth transition! I hope u don't have to go through any of this drama!

You still at work? LOL

Awwww Philly, I thought if anything you would have this issue with your youngest but I guess he’s just glad someone’s there to keep you busy and out of his hair. I didn’t think your oldest would have trouble with it. Wow, my heart goes out to you ‘cause I know yours must be breaking. It’s hard to get them to understand that you still have a place for them and then as their mother to see them hurt because they feel like they are not loved the same. I think I will end up going through this with my son although he’ll be on his way out of my house soon. We are so close. Though he accepted my daughters’ father I don’t know if he will accept A as my husband. :sigh: I really worry about this so my heart goes out to you. I’m here if you need to talk…always, anytime. smiley-hug005.gif

Hey Miz J,

Girlllllll the stress, yuh see it? I thought the likkle one would be the one too but they are actually bonding over working on the vehicle and fixing the house. You can imagine my dismay when the oldest flipped but I should have seen it coming.... I hope and pray you don't have to go through this with yours it is just a mess.......

I never went to Odunde Hubby ended up working on the house and on the truck all day yesterday. My Mom said I didn't miss a dang thing, same crowd nothing new......

All right since unu bored...mi need likkle elp

I haven't posted on here in ages (my bad) but was part of the original thread that started about 4 years ago. I just wanted to share that there is hope that the visa journey can eventually come to an end.

This past Friday, 4 years and 4 days since my husband arrived in the US on his K-1 Visa, he was naturalized as a US Citizen. We are very excited and are happy to put the "journey" behind us. God bless everyone of you and your families and as always, let me know if you have any questions, I am always happy to help in any way that I can.

Take Care,
