I never had issues with my oldest( except he eats me out of house and home and is lazy LOL) he was always my rock so you can imagine how much it hurts me to be going through this with him! Like Sus and Lawny said they hurt the ones they love the most which are the Mothers. It's not easy but we will get through it though!

:(

Sounds like you depended on him a lot before... maybe he feels like you don't need him anymore...

Maybe you should talk to him alone, just the two of you. Take him to a movie or something and try to understand his feelings. (L)

Hey Ja

this is a great link, I just started reading and a couple of highlights that caught my eye

* Be realistic – things won’t be perfect overnight. ( I knew it was too good to be true that everything was going too smoothly between my boys and Husband for the 1st month he was here I was waiting for the ball to drop! )

* Be patient – good relationships take time and kids need to time to trust and count on you. ( Exactly, he really works hard to get to know them as individuals )

* Limit your expectations – know that you will probably give a lot of time, energy, love and affection that will not be returned immediately. Think of it as making small investments that may one day yield a lot of interest, but don’t expect anything in return for now. ( ha ha back to the 1st bullet, I should have known it was too good to be true in the beginning everything was going so great LOL)

he WILL cook finesse and he says the same thing.. not to worry that we can do it together..WOW.. u make it sound so fun, maybe i will be ok..

i am too much of a perfectionist i guess.. i hate when i don't know how to do something well.. i try to sneak my way out of doing it all.. but i am learning.. u are right.. i should JUST DO IT..thanks!!!

well, practice makes perfect. i surprise myself all the time, and my friends, my family...even my husbands jamaican friends are like dyam, you cooked this?

TAP SHOW OFF! just kidding, u go girl!!!.. i hope i get into it! u mentioned the hubby had jamaican friends.. u have a pretty big Jamaican community where u live?

not so much...big enough to have a few jamaican stores and clubs and restaurants and find everything we need but not big like there is a jamaican neighborhood or anything. my husband has a few friends that he knew from home that now live in Chicago (an hour from us) so they come to visit. he has connected with a few jamaicans here but they just smoke weed and play dominoes all day so he not really interested in hanging out with them. so he jus a go and make im own friend...white, black, mexican, puerto rican, etc...

princess...that is great advice and has really worked for us. i take time to do things just my son and i and let him know that he is the most important thing to me. then, when it is the three of us he feels confident in knowing how much i love him and then he is happy, treats my husband with respect, and then we are good

Yes one thing I have learned in life is no matter what drama we go through on a day to day basis FAMILY Drama is the worst Drama!

That is very true Princess

He is an introvert and likes to do his own thing so I would let him, but he helped me a lot because he is big for his age, tall and husky. Since he is so strong I depend on him to help me with a lot of things around the house and in the garden. Although Hubby has taken on alot of responsibilities to help me around the house and the vehicles I always engage my son to help in the garden which he loves! ( but not lately LOL)

LOL have you ever tried to really talk to a teenager, it kind of goes like this. So whats up whats going on with you tell me how you feel    can you expound on that

Well how did you reach that high score on PS3 smiley-talk024.gif

LOL Princess those are great ideas though :luv:
