i agree. i do believe intelligence and self esteem have a lot to do with it though. if you are going to sit up and beleive that some dude is totally in love with you after talking to him for 20 minutes and then 3 days later he asking you for money while telling you that you are his soulmate and this other bs...then that person is an idiot.

NOoo this can't be true !!!!! So what are you ladies trying to tell me that guy I met on the beach who after talking to him for 20 minutes he told me I was his sole mate and that he could see himself marrying me. He asked me what type of wedding wanted and all so I told him and awww it was so magical.

I told him I was there with my family and he told me to go get them he wanted to meet dad and mom… I was so happy that I met the love of my life and I was about to get married again I asked him to wait right there while I went to get my dad…

It has taken a lot for me to post personal things in public on here. Mostly cause I got beat the shyt out of on another board for saying things. You tend to become gun shy everywhere. Mostly, I have tested the waters about non-confrontational personal subjects and saved the others for PMs or emails with people I truly trust.

If I hear someone mention something similiar I have been through or I think they can help me, I will PM and spill or ask for advice. Those of you who I have spilled to know exactly what I am talking about.

Well I think everyone who has shared a story on here is somewhat brave because they are not afraid to share their pain just like they shared their joy. What I do find funny and somewhat hypocritical is the fact that some people are so "happy" for people when they get their visa etc and make plenty of posts about how excited for each other they are but these same people never said anything to the person when they filed for the visa 1 month after meeting the SO but then 6 months after the SO gets here and leaves or some other drama everyone want to talk about how they saw the signs! WELL MY QUESTION IS IF YOU SAW THE SIGNS WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING? MAYBE YOU DIDN'T SAY IT ON THE BOARD BUT DID YOU PM THE PERSON? This is a rhetorical question I have about things I have seen and heard on this board.

Well, I guess you are definitely right in that sense, I USED to talk my mind a lot more than I do, and was almost run out of town.

Now, when people post their bullshit, I'll question them on it and depending on their reaction, I'll move on from there.

And YES, even now there are people posting who I have my doubts, but I refrain from saying ish to them because I honestly don't think they want to hear.

If and when they break up, I would never say 'I knew it', because I didn;'t say it to them.

But in NowMrs case, I say it because I DID say it.

I will actually give you credit here. Cause I do remember you saying it out loud long ago.

Thing is, it doesn't give me any pleasure to be right. Would have preferred to be mistaken.

I have a question, do you think relationship/adjusment is easier if you and your husband/fiance/wife/fiancee were from the same country/culture -- had a dicussion the other night with some friends from a yahoo group -- it got so heated, that I didn't even finish my food.

Exactly my point.. and the people I see recounting others bad stories never seem to post anything about their own relationship. Come on now, not all stories involve cheating or green card scams but I'll be dogon if anyone can sit up and say hey I'm pissed at my man for "xyz"

I'm one of those who probably never posts anythuing about my relationship, mainly for two reasons, one that my husband and I don't really argue about anything very interesting and the other that he would not be AT ALL happy to know I was posting about him on a message board.

Just when I was going to start making myself feel guilty for not posting when I get mad at my husband. I honestly haven't had anything worth posting on the board. I probably forgot by the time I signed in. And most of the time...it's him mad at me...Like..why I have to let our daughter...hahaha I mean Dog...ride in the car..after he did such a good job. But I apologize and make an effort to only let her ride...when he doesn't plan on cleaning my car. See what I mean...boring...

My husband and I do a good job at communicating/complaining. We don't beat around the bush...straight out there.

i am one that may give TOO much info but thats my personality, i like to talk and get it out.. sometimes i think "man, they don't tell much about themselves" (not only on vj, but other groups) but in the end, i wouldn't change me and I CANT change them,, i just keep talking to whoever will listen LOL

.. whether roger and i turn out good or bad.. and if somebody tells me later they knew it or TELLS all of vj they knew it.. its all good.. i don't regret being vocal about my relationship.. i hope u don't either mami...

I will recount the first time i went to JA, i was staying at the jamaica grand, i didnt know about how the men operate per se so anyway everday the breakfast cook is making mushy faces at me, smiling, whispering, winking, im like WTH? one day he saw me outside, he comes to talk to me and lord knows i couldnt figure out ish he was saying so im looking at him with this blank look on my face then he says something about you want sex? im like WHA!!!!!! hell naw, he says it will be the best time of your life, im like NO THANK YOU I pass... he was serious as hell and tried to talk to me every single day i was in the hotel, i will say it was a bit of a shock... i said damn its like that down here....
