Ladies has anyone every landed a job from going to a job fair? I thought they were good to go to I was thinking bout driving down and attending one in Raleigh next month but some people up here are telling me their a waste of time. I’m not sure if their hating are serious.

I have never been successful in any job fair, however I have been successful with recruiters. Have you looked into recruiters for your field, those positions tend to be very lucractive although sometimes they are contracted positions for 6 mos to a year but the salary is off the chain LOL.

Girl my youngest son straightened up I am proud of him but my oldest down lost his mind and I am not even speaking to him right now! Mi cyaa bodda!

my texture is def NOT the same as theirs now.. i mean i ain't got no wooly beety b hair, but its not no soft wave either.. i need some heavy duty heat on this stuff..

Quana...some of them have an african decent. When I had a perm, i would go to them almost every week. (it was only $20 for wash and set) and my hair grew so long. With the natural..my blow out lasted for two weeks and I was in Florida with high humidity levels.

The think is I won't really be able to wear a real afro if I keep it straight...but I like it straight..I know it seems crazy to go natural and keep it straighten. It's like I don't have any dandruff now. My scap is not dry. I think the perm dries it out.

Has anyone been to Kool Runnings? If so, how fluffy-friendly is the park?

For some reason, my hubby didn't think that would be fun. We went to Six Flags last year....and he was like a big kid on the water park slides. He doesn't like the rollercoasts. I was totally surprised since he is a daredevil. He'll try anything.

He is a mechanic by trade and we went to Pep Boys the other night ( do you have them in TX?) to get parts to fix my truck. He was like a kid in a candy store eyes lit up all bright and was running from aisle to aisle LOL. So right then I knew what to get him for Fathers day! he was looking at this hydrolic lift and running board so I will surprise him since I know he really needs that to work on the vehicles.

My Mother already got him his present early a huge 200 piece Craftsman tool set he was astonished and so very thankful! My Mom truly loves her new son in law! Her radiator bust yesterday and she ordered the part had it delivered to the house same day and he fixed it in 30 minutes she was amazed! I told he is that ish when it comes to cars

So girl I know you are counting down till Roger soon come do you have any plans for Fathers day?

Quana I know who you’re talking about and let me ask you this. I was down there and I seen how she wears her hair. She wears it natural and all over her head. Now granted I love this look but do you think that maybe they should at least try to wear it back for the interview and then once they get the job be free again?? Someone mentioned that maybe if she wore her hair back a little she might get a little farther in the process. Your thoughts?

I know sometimes we don't want to believe this but CAN be true. Point in place...I started growing my hair natural but I have a grade of hair that can be nicely slicked back and it looks decent. My boss (the one who hired me) how they had interview one girl and she had a big fluffy and wavey weave. She said truly..she couldn't get pass looking at the hair. It was so unfair because on the paper I'm sure the girl was probably qualified. This happens because we are dealing with humans when going to a job interview.

A lot of students in my business school would get so mad at our business program orientation class. That class we had to wear a Navy blue or Black suit to class. Guess what, now everyone has a suit for an interview...hahahaha. And they would lecture us about interview techniques and such. First impressions are lasting impressions.

My motto is get the job...then break out the more colorful stuff and wilder hair styles. It took me 6 months where I felt comfortable to wear bears. I had conversations with an executive and she said she use to wear them all the time...just make sure they are neat.

It's really all about neatness.

I'm natural...I get the Dominican blow out. I want to try the Ethopian flat iron...that Shemmy suggested. I'm all for heat. I'm really natural because I really didn't get perms that often..and plus they dry out my scrap.

LOL... i was gonna say or a lil sister to get on his last nerve LOL, but i thought i should be positive..

one of the reason i stayed married so long even tho we werent getting along.. i didn't want the stress and drama of the blended family.. i couldn't imagine my girls w/ another man or w/ other kids.. but i know it can work.. it will just take time..

question.. how long did it take for u to be comfortable w/ leaving ur kids home alone w/ ur husband. I trust roger but i want my girls to gain a trust for him.. i have to work on weekends sometimes and at first i plan to either not work or leave the kids w/ my mom until i feel they are ok?? any thoughts??

Pep boys, Home Depot, etc... are my biggest fears of DJ shopping here - cause the man will lose his mind in those shops! I can just see my pretty car getting all hooked up like a hooptie!

Hey 1Luv I am natural but I am Weavalicious 92% of the time LOL. when I dare wear my natural hair out only in the winter due to the lack of humidity I will press my hair straight. Let me tell you it's an ordeal because it's extremely thick and alot of it but I use 100% virgin coconut oil that I melt down on the stove and use a flat iron @ 210 degrees.

This weekend I was starting to braid my hair so I could sew in the weave and Hubby was so upset because he loves the texture of my hair and wanted me to wear it out for one week. So I said ok I look exotic now but you wait and see! So walked around the house with my natural texture for a few hours in the humidity and before his eyes it changed and I looked like the bride of Frankenstein. He was rolling and told me Baby now I understand, go ahead do your thing! So now I have and 18 inch weave down my back and I am in Happy town LOL

do you leave any of your natural hair out? I need a cute style that I can wear that won't have my natural hair out and doesn't look totally fake.

LOL about Kool Runnings, we have passed there plenty of times but I never went in, I rather go to the ocean. Regarding the park being Fluffy friendly girl, be confident in your skin I know I'm fluffy but you can't tell me I am not the ish ( the plus size Lisa Ray ) who cares what anyone else thinks! Cute in the face thick in the waist LOL. Sis you only live once go an have fun with your Man!

my daughters press would stay for weeks at a time.. i want mine to get a lil bit longer and i will pay somebody to do it..

Some people I know what natural hair get theirs straightened all the time. They told me that once you do it a few times in a row, your hair gets "trained" and stays straighter for longer, compared to if you just get it straightened every once in a while.

So on Friday someone at VSC told me that my case was assigned to an officer. I just called today to ask when it was assigned, and a different person answered the phone. This person told me that she does not show that my case was assigned to an officer at all. The only thing she sees is that I updated my address in May. I may start calling daily now, to see where it is. I wish all the people would say their name when they answer, so I can tell if I'm getting the same person or not. Today, the person sounded like Barbara from last Thursday, but I wasn't sure since she didn't say.

Awh thanks...I'm going to let them put color in next time. But you know I'm rocking the curly ponytail for now. this is the best invention ever. I mean I can be free at night...cause hubby like my real hair out....hahaha and during the day....wah la....it's a cute curly weave ponytail.
