To no avail, I contacted my senators & congressman today asking for updates on the requests for assistance I sent in a month ago.

One senator's aide told me that they're on Nov 25 cases (LIES LIES LIES LIES LIES!!!) so give them another month or two since I'm still within current processing time.

The other senator's aide and congressman's aide weren't there. I left a message for one, but the other one's voicemail didn't work. Guess I'll try them again tomorrow.

Maybe I'll try NVC, but I hesitate to do that cause they talk to you like you're crazy for asking for asking them if they received an unapproved petition.

------------

So far of all the government people I've spoken with, only one person followed this logic. Does this make sense to anyone else:

If on April 30 they were on cases from November 25 (or 28), then by May 30 they should've been on cases from late December. It's now nearly end of June, so they should be on cases from late January. Even if they're running almost a month behind, I'm STILL outside of processing time.

Exactly the logic I've been trying to use for estimating my approval time. It's 157 days between November 25th and April 30th. Using that logic, one should be able to add about 155-160 days to your NOA1 and expect a response. You would think that the senator's aide would be able to talk to someone that gives them an actual up to date range. VSC seems to have ground to a halt. Haven't seen any evidence of working in a few weeks.

I got the same November 25th dribble from Senator Cornyn's office. I'm going to write him and simply ask if that's his best effort at assiting me. if it is, i need to change political party and vote a straight democrat ballot. what a waste.

That's funny... Senator Cornyn was the only one (out of 2 senators & a congressman) that DID send a request to USCIS on my behalf. The other two just said I'm within current processing times. Maybe he knew I didn't vote for him & was trying to win me over.

I been reading all of your posts. first of all i am sorry all this is happening to you guys and girls. i mean isn't the point of representatives from each state is to represent us. i think they forget this along the way. when we have issues they are suppose to represent the people not just basically blow us off. I know it is hard to do but to be honest i wouldn't take no for an answer from this elected officials because they are elected by taxpayers (us) and are suppose to represent us when we need help. Maybe i am wrong and some people think differently then me but this is how i feel.

Natpatben i been reading a lot of your posts for a long time now and i think your positive attitude should be an inspiration to us all. So everyone keep a chin up please and keep fighting and yes i know i already received my NOA2 and it is easy for me to say but if i didn't have it i would be saying the same things. Trust me!!!

Thanks, Rich and Bey.

dkolb, perhaps I spoke too soon. I got a letter today from Senator Cornyn's office. Their response from VSC (dated June 19), which they forward on to me, says blah blah blah Nov 25 blah blah.

Yesterday I called the customer service line and was told that my case was recently assigned to an adjudicator and that I should get approval "maybe today; maybe tomorrow. Call us back if you don't get anything in 30 days." I had to roll my eyes at that answer.

Anything? Anybody?

The service request submitted on my behalf at an Infopass appointment has a target date of July 4, 2009. Supposedly, I was supposed to receive some information by that date. However, nothing.

Calling customer service (as pointless as always), I found out that they often don't respond to these. If they do, the lady said, it would be just to tell me that my case is within normal processing time. A logical explanation to her about Nov 25 as of April 30 does not mean Nov 25 as of July 6 did no good.

I'm so sorry to hear that, NatPatBen. I'm checking every day if you got your approval, and I hope it will come soon! (F) Can't you try to push your congresspeople some more to help you? I can't believe they refuse to inquire. I'd keep calling...

Did you all see that a December filer got approved yesterday! It gives me hope! His/her NOA1 date was the day before mine (not that it means anything).

Yes I did see that, and that gives hope. I've been staying away from the visa forums for my sanity's sake. I got an update on my case, and they never expedited it. So my contact told off USCIS, and now today we are hoping for some kind of update. Stay strong Nat and everyone else waiting

Hey crew,

Nothing on my end, I go to the infopass every other week since it's across the street from my office but NOTHING from them.

I have contacted both senators office - one of them was the Office of Mel Martinez and they acted like they were perturbed by my request.

The second office Bill Nelson is working on it....

On June 16 I was able to get in a service request. They wrote me a letter saying that they would have a decision on my case within 60 days of the letter dated June 17. I have called several times and asked to speak to someone at the next level which is an officer. They have all replied that the case IS in adjudicators hands and that I will have a decision by Aug 16.

Well at least I have some type of feedback from them and not just the "we are working on Nov 25" #######!!!

Hope everyone is doing well

Mr Twister, how did you get in a service request?

I had one submitted on June 4 (at my Infopass apt), but never received a response. When I called customer service, the lady suggested that they might not respond to is, since the website was updated after my service request.

It's not nearly as convenient/quick for me to have an infopass appointment. It's a good 30 minutes away from my job and last time I was there for almost 2 hours. But I might go anyway to get another service request submitted, if that's what worked for you.
