Wow you should've been calling a while ago. Call them first, they will send you most likely to their website where you will have to fill out form that will allow them access to your account. Then fax that form to their office. I hope you hear something soon.

I've downloaded and complete the authorization form. I'm just at a bit of a loss at to what to say. i don't think (#*$(*#( stinking rotten (*#@@(#& will be very productive. hahahaha

Should threaten to vote for the other politcal party?

Just explain it simply. You are over the 6 month mark. That should make them jump into action for you right away. Also, just make them feel sorry for you....trying to get their sympathy is the most I think you could achieve. :crying:

i'm going to complain about the financial hardship of maintaining 2 households while i wait for the government. I'll tell them i need a bailout

:help:

Well i'll mail this 2morrow. i don't claim to be a great letter writer but lets see what this produces....

June 23, 2009

U.S. Senator John Cornyn

5001 Spring Valley Road, Ste 1125E

Dallas, TX 75244

Dear Senator Cornyn:

I am writing to request your help with a petition I filed at the Vermont service center of the USCIS. The following is summary of the process thus far:

• 12/03/08 Petition received by Vermont service center.

• Early May of 2009 - I called the USCIS and was told that the petition was not outside the 6 month processing time frame and no action would be taken. I was instructed to wait until 6 months had passed since receipt of the petition at VSC.

• 06/03/09 – (6 months by my calendar) I contacted the USCIS and was told the petition was not outside normal processing time, contrary to what I was told in the previous call.

• 06/04/09 - I called the USCIS again and was once again told the petition was not outside the processing time frame. Again, contrary to the contact I made in early May AND this conflicts with the information on the USCIS website.

• 06/08/09 - I called the USICS again and this time was told by the immigration officer I talked to that the petition is indeed outside the 6 month processing time frame and a service request was initiated at that time.

• 06/09/09 – A form letter was generated at USCIS that I received a few days later in the mail. The letter stated that my case is currently under review and I should receive a decision within 60 days.

• 06/22/09 – I contacted USCIS again to confirm the “non- response” response generated 06/09/09 was in fact a result of the service request initiated on 06/08/09 and was informed that it was in fact their response.

Senator, next week the USICS will have had this petition for 7 months. They have not requested any additional information. The have not asked that any information I submitted be clarified. They have told me nothing more than wait, wait and wait some more. My patience has run out.

Similar petitions received at the Vermont service center in January, February and perhaps even March of 2009 have already been processed and approved. The unwillingness of the VSC to process and approve my petition is unconscionable.

I’m sure you understand, waiting for paperwork to processes is emotionally straining in any case, but the failure of the VSC to do their job is increasing that strain exponentially and causing me and my fiancé an unreasonable financial burden. They claim to process petitions in the order received. This is clearly not the fact of the matter.

I would deeply appreciate your help in compelling the VSC to approve this petition immediately. They have had ample time to process and approve my petition and it is significantly beyond the processing time reasonably necessary to get it completed.

Please contact me at your earliest convenience. My email address is .

Thank you for you prompt attention to this matter.

Warmest Regards,

Hey dkolb85,

This looks like a really well thought-out letter. Just an FYI there isn't a single person from March 2009 at the VSC that has posted an NOA2, just those odd-ball May dates that look like an expedited petition. Only half of February has gotten theirs, too. Not sure if you want to change this line in your letter or not. Good luck on getting a response! Let us know what response you get please!

dkolb85, I contacted Senator Cornyn (along with our other state senator and my congressman) about a month ago. Of the 3, only Senator Cornyn did anything.

I faxed the form his office requires along with a brief explanation of my request. They sent in a request to USCIS on my behalf. I called last week and they hadn't heard anything back yet. I plan to call tomorrow since my case was touched twice this past weekend; perhaps one of those touches was to look & respond to Senator Cornyn.

If his office doesn't have an update for me, I'll call the other Senator & congressman's offices again. We'll see what that does.

You mentioned that you're emailing your letter. You might also fax it, then call a few minutes later to verify that they received the fax and/or email.

I definitely agree with you on the oversees trip. I thought I'd have been approved months ago, so I didn't plan any trips to Jamaica, thinking the interview would be in June/July. Now it's looking like late August/September, assuming an approval this week. That's a long time to go without seeing my love, but I can't afford (time-wise or vacation-wise) to keep going back & forth.

I've got the vacation time but trying to save it for when she's here. i don't show a single "touch" online. infuriating!

Good letter DK,

I think the biggest issue with all these late petitions is that there is no transparency between USCIS and the customer. Some time ago I was reading rules of USCIS, don't know how I got on this site, but anyway they repeat time after time, CUSTOMER SERVICE. More than likely the people that work there are good people, ofcoarse we all work in places where you have "rabbits and turtles", but the real issue I see is a broken system with no petitioner involvement or update. I can't believe that these many case's are just being ignored or lost. There has got to be a reason. Maybe some kind of name hit or something, that they cannot resolve. My question is, why can't they communicate this information to the customer. Throw out the call center "list of responses" and start to work with the customer, US!

Although I have been approved, and finally out of NVC jail, ( I think the dna test they did paid off, you know, I sealed the envelope with saliva). I am extremely dissatisfied with this whole system. With Obama talking about immigration reform, (obama's a whole nother topic), this system had better be changed or updated or future people in this position will not be waiting 6 months for an approval, but more like 1-2 years.

I'm hoping for your posts this week guys, it's gotta be close....

Yeah definitely fax and confirm like Nat said. Your email will just get lost. I hope to hear some good news soon. I am going to wait till tomorrow to ask my contact on my case since she said 2 days. 2 days is technically today, but I want to wait till tomorrow to nag her again. I feel it is closer than ever....that I must say

To no avail, I contacted my senators & congressman today asking for updates on the requests for assistance I sent in a month ago.

One senator's aide told me that they're on Nov 25 cases (LIES LIES LIES LIES LIES!!!) so give them another month or two since I'm still within current processing time.

The other senator's aide and congressman's aide weren't there. I left a message for one, but the other one's voicemail didn't work. Guess I'll try them again tomorrow.

Maybe I'll try NVC, but I hesitate to do that cause they talk to you like you're crazy for asking for asking them if they received an unapproved petition.

------------

So far of all the government people I've spoken with, only one person followed this logic. Does this make sense to anyone else:

If on April 30 they were on cases from November 25 (or 28), then by May 30 they should've been on cases from late December. It's now nearly end of June, so they should be on cases from late January. Even if they're running almost a month behind, I'm STILL outside of processing time.

I wonder Nat,

how you seem to see touch's when so many other people including myself, have not seen any nor did my status change, and mine has been approved since June 6.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy to see that your case is at least getting touch's, I certainly hope for your approval, but why do some get touch's and updates such as approved, but others get nothing.

Customer service is a joke, they don't give any meaningful information at all. wont transfer a person to anyone that will answer questions. all i can get out of customer support is "hurry up an wait" it's crazy!!

I'm hoping for your posts this week guys, it's gotta be close....

 Here's my theory: The slacker who has my case looks for any and every reason to delay working on cases. One of the things he does to avoid working on the cases is to spend lots of time re-shuffling and scanning them.
