"Our Wedding Prayer"

Lord, help us to remember when we first met,and the strong love that grew between us.

To work the love into practical things so nothing can divide us

Grant us a Love that grows stronger with each passing year.

We ask for words both kind and loving

and for hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive.

Guide us to overcome every challenge

and keep our dreams pure to each other always.

Dear Lord,we put our marriage into Your hands.Amen

If your heart acquires strength, you will be able to remove blemishes from others without thinking evil of them.

Yes u are right rheanick, the OP said their marriage in US was already reported here in Philippines. So best for her to get annulment here in PH..anyone can suggest how to get annuled here?

I am not a lawyer but I don't think a Philippine court has jurisdiction over a marriage that was celebrated abroad, especially if the marriage is between a foreigner and a Filipino citizen. The US citizen has to initiate the divorce then the Filipino spouse shall have the divorce decree recognized in the Philippines.

If the OP did not report the marriage to Philippines consulate or NSO then the Philippines court has no jurisdiction on it.

Anyone could get married in any country and yet still consider single in the Philippines if the marriage is not reported. As simple as that.

If the OP did not report the marriage to Philippines consulate or NSO then the Philippines court has no jurisdiction on it.

A Philippine court does not acquire jurisdiction over a marriage celebrated in another country just by having the marriage reported in the Philippines. A Philippine court's decision has no effect on the existing laws of another country.

Anyone could get married in any country and yet still consider single in the Philippines if the marriage is not reported. As simple as that.

According to Exec. Order No. 227 amending Article 26 of the Family Code of the Philippines:

ART. 26. All marriages solemnized outside the Philippines in accordance with the laws in force in the country where they were solemnized, and valid there as such, shall also be valid in this country, except those prohibited under Articles 35(1), (4), (5) and (6), 36, 37 and 38.

Not reporting your marriage (celebrated abroad) to the NSO does not make one single. You may get away getting a CENOMAR but does not mean you can get married again because you can still be sued for bigamy. Our law is clear that a marriage solemnized abroad is also valid in the Philippines.
