Hi all, My wife will be getting her Visa this week and we will leave to go back to US at the end of June. My question is how long will it take her to get her Green card and SS#. After she gets that She will be able to leave the US and reenter any time she wants, correct? Well here is my situation, I work for a company that has facilities in Vietnam and Thailand that I have to go back to Asia and work every so often. After me and my wife leave Vietnam at the end of this month I have to go back to Vietnam again to work in Oct. and Nov. Will she have a problem going with me? My work contract requires me to work in Asia 4 months every year. Will she come into any problems when come time for her to get her citizenship if she travels with me overseas often. Thank in advance for your help and any answer is appreciated.

Take a look at N400 and its instructions and you will see that if she travels out of the country too much; then and only then there might be a problem. From your description 3 to 4 months a year - should be OK. Good Luck

If she checked off on the DS-230 that she wanted to be assigned an SSN, hopefully she will receive the card within 3 weeks after entering the U.S. If she doesn't receive the card within 3 weeks she will need to go into an SSA office to find out what's going on and possibly submit an SSN application.

Be sure that she takes her I-551 card or passport with the MRIV with I-551 language and birth certificate or passport.
