Hi,

I just got married last week and my TN is expiring end of August. I thought I would just have enough time to get EAD before my TN is up, but did not realize I needed to submit the marriage cedrtificate along with the application and it takes at least 4-6 weeks to get the certificate (married in Hawaii), so obviously I am having a big timing issue. If I ask my employer's legal to renew my TN, they probably can do it without problem, but I wonder if this will create issues when I file the green card application since the date on my marriage certificate will be earlier than my TN renewal date. But from the research I have done online, many people have renewed their TN after got married as long as they don't tell the border officer about the marriage. I wonder if this means the immigration officers do not care about the date conflicts? Any advice is much appreciated!! I want to hold off to ask my employer's legal to renew my TN till I know it is fine. Thanks!!!
