I second THAT Slim! ;) Plus, some people have problems for a while, and come out the other side just fine...like my own relationship. People should be given the benefit of the doubt until they prove they don't deserve that IMO; it's too quick with the judge and jury around here, and most other message boards you see it happening to people as well. Anyway, just piggybacking off Slim's comment...so :ot2: on dispensing advice or not. M.

I guess you felt differently, but I'm not airing my dirty laundry here. If I'm having trouble filing out a form or obtaining a document I would ask for help here. Problems at home should stay at home or at least be PMed.

Hear, hear (as usual) mdyoung. Interesting to note that we are among some of the longest-marrieds here.

you're married to mdyoung?

Well, I want to respond to that, but then I'll let this topic lie as far as us. I have no more a desire to get into it all again, than you do to read it again. Plus, Craig's trip to England has resolved a LOT of things, and we're doing just great. We both felt, at different times, with Craig starting that thread in fact that we just wanted to vent. I don't remember even soliciting advice either, it just happened, as it will on any thread like that. Neither of us had a problem with it, so why should anyone else, ya know? IMO, people can start threads about whatever they wish; people can read it or not. If it was something iffy I was wondering about 'airing' I always asked Craig if he minded first, so it really wasn't a biggie. I just used it as a place to let off steam, and also talk about the good moments. In retrospect, yes, it was a mistake. I don't believe that because of what I wrote however, I believe that because I got advice I *wasn't seeking and didn't take it well. Just as I said, I have a right to post whatever I wish, so do you have a right to respond however you wish and I admittedly wasn't prepared for some of the responses. People get a bit too hasty and judgemental at times as well tho. (as in some of the ridiculous remarks like 'is he even THERE anymore, and did you really do this or do that, where's a current pic of you??etc") As I said, I won't bring it up again, just wanted to say that in response to your post. Carry on with the topic... :) M.

As an aside, that's exactly what you just did, fwiw

Thank you all for your answers guys

I meant in THIS thread Lisa. I didn't realize I was barred from talking about my relationship forEVER same as you or anyone else do. Ah, well. *SHRUG* Guess I'll continue to do what I please, but I really wish you would stop picking apart my posts, looking for what, I don't know!? :)

You seem to get so defensive anytime the slightest thing is mentioned...and that's what I have trouble with. Maybe ppl were alluding to you when they said they don't understand why people air their 411, maybe not..who knows? I dunno. No one singled you out here Michelle. But you took it upon yourself to explain yet AGAIN why you chose to do it. But ust as you feel the need to do what you do - there are others who don't understand it. It's not for them to understand it, but it's not for you to have to explain it at every oppty. If you really want to not talk about it again (re: the Immig Nightmare thread and all that ensued) then DON'T.

Novel concept, I know!

Sall I'm sayin...take it or leave it....if you're happy with posting it, why be so damn defensive? And yet you air all your information, yet take the huff when ppl speak frankly about it. You shouldn't expect to have it both ways, hon.

I don't care if you make 50 gazillion threads about it. I really don't. But you seem to not be able to hanlde the sllightest bit of negativity ie- someone disagreeing with you. People will, people won't...just accept that, and you'll be much happier in the long run.

If you want to continue this, start another thread. I'd rather not do it via pm as the LAST time I tried to straighten summat out with you via messenger, you played the victime yet again & said summat on here like I was 'harrassing' you. So yeah, no more pvt convos for us for the time being. The thing that you don't understand is that personally I have nothing against you & I thought we were sort of friends. It's jsut that I cannot blow sunshine up your booty anymore...too tiring...so I suppose I became the 'evil LIsa', so whatever. But yeah, make another thread about it so we can beat things to death yet one more time, that'd be fun.

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

If there's a case involving a past history with marriage fraud, or any other red flags includeing but not limited to incarceration, deportation, etc....is it really wise to advise someone on how to still proceed with a visa? It's really a double edged sword, cos at the same time, we're not here to judge one another...but are there any exceptions to the rules iyo?

No, because there are no 'rules' about when one person can give another person advice. Therefore, there can be no exception to the rule as the rule does not exist.

With an instance of 'hrrmmm, that doesn't smell right'...do you ever second guess giving advice?

As a personal choice, yes. I even second guess giving advice to people I think suck. But that's a personal decision and not a rule.

There is no rule. There need not ever be a rule. Individuals can decide for themselves.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.
