It all boils down to:

Caveat emptor.

Buyer beware.

Everyone here knows this is not a site for receiving legal immigration advice. If they choose to believe something they hear on here, then they are the ones responsible.

If they were obviously considering fraud I would consider first of all if they knew it was fraud and second of all, do I feel it is an appropriate choice for me to offer advice. If they knew it was fraud I may not respond at all, or else advise them that what they were planning was illegal/fraudulent/etc. and advise them that they may wish to reconsider. If they didn't know it was fraud then I may well advise them that their planned course of action was illegal and offer alternatives for their consideration. If they knew it was fraud and they were asking how to get away with it, I would probably not respond at all. We each have choices about what we would do in any given circumstances; the exact circumstances would affect my course of action.

Well, just for myself, I guess I would try to help if I knew the answer. It's not my place to decipher out who's being fraudulent and who isn't..it's the embassys. JMO. M.

edited to add: I can't imagine anyone being THIS stupid, but if it was *obviously fraud......you could tell by what the poster said, etc for certain..or 99 percent..whatever...then I would just refrain from posting in that thread.

That's not what I asked tho....would YOU help someone out with the process if you felt it might be visa fraud on their part?

Oh sorry... I missinterpreted what you originally asked.

In answer to your question... NO WAY!

I could never condone anyone doing anything illegal, along my being a part of it or having any knowledge of it.

No..

if I think someone is frauding - I will soo point out the inconsistancys. I never cater to anyone

doing anything of a fraudulant nature. like when people are trying to hide picks of their Religous wedding. then pretending like it did not happen, in order to come on a K-1 visa. that to me is fraud. that stuff right there works my nerve. those kinds of people need to get CAUGHT!!!

Of course not. No more than I would help them rob a bank.

just because they are asking, that dont mean they deserve a response.

There have been several threads on here where people have asked for advice on a certain topic, and the overwhelming answers have been:

"THAT'S VISA FRAUD!!! DON'T DO IT!!!"

I haven't seen anyone here "help" anyone else commit outright fraud.

The US immigration system is already rife with fraud, corruption, absconders, illegal aliens, etc. Why would any citizen help yet another crook to jerk off the system? I certainly wouldn't help these people to lie their way into America. Why would anyone want liars and cheats to be their neighbors?

It still amazes me that we have government officials that want to allow millions of illegal aliens to become US citizens after breaking numerous laws (including identity theft, document fraud, etc., etc.).

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Right...we ourselves were told on the misinformation line before we ever discovered VJ "OH..he's here NOW???Well, just get married then and blah blah" Well, I guess technically that wouldn't have been fraud as it was a two-week visit scheduled initially...and he didn't enter the POE intending to stay..which is the important factor there; we didn't want to take any risks tho.

I have seen people post, however, and say...we're thinking about having her come here and just staying on VW and adjust from that..etc etc. I have been known to post and say "that's visa fraud, so I wouldn't recommend it" etc. but that's about as far as I go. Consistent with what I wrote above in that it's *obvious* fraud, but in that case I did post on the off chance they were new to VJ and didn't realize, and were just asking if that was 'ok' to do. M.

Also..just because *I* (or one of us here) thinks it might be visa fraud doesn't mean that it IS - that's the Embassy's / USCIS /DHS's job to sort out - if I thought it was tho, from something I read here, I'd either say 'this is what I think, and IMO its illegal' or STFU and not respond to the post...

This isn't a legal helpline - its a 'this has been my experience' site..and 'this is how to complete a form' or 'this is a procedure' site..I haven't seen anyone here give a LEGAL opinion on anything unless its quoting stuff that could be found online, in the public domain if you know where to look (like SS stuff, or rules for applying for Visa etc). Many many times people are expressly encouraged to seek competant legal counsel. It's up to the poster what they do with the info.

Ans...We never know if we have ALL the facts do we? :)

(I'm bummed out that we lost on Penalties so if that made no sense, blame that.. )
