I'm pleading ignorance on this one, so I'll just ask the obviously glaring question here. Do the federal authorities have no jurisdiction whatsoever on native lands? I know that here, the authority lies with the tribe, except on matters of security that go beyond the scope of just their land.

I've lived through some stuff so I get exhausted just thinking about trying to explain it. Nevada's familiar with Shawanaga.... she might know what I'm referring to. Suffice it to say that I took helicopter rides in the winter and boat rides in the summer to get to my property on Georgian Bay after the Band closed the road. End of story. Well, actually, that's just the beginning of the story. It gets so much better from there.

So from my very limited readings and some posts here, I gather that first nation tribes have substantially more authority and clout than the ones here in the U.S..
