On November 25th John was approved, pending his original BC and PC.. he sent those to the Embassy courier 2 days later. On Friday 12-4, John received the visa and mysterious brown packet. He booked his Flight and is due to Arrive Tuesday 12-15-09. POE is Newark NJ and he has a 2.5 hour layover to allow for customs and whatnot. After his arrival (1 week later) we will do the Social Security card, finalize the wedding plans and around 1-5-10 go get the marriage license. We are getting married on 1-23-2010.

Wendy, Is your sister still as sick as you thought or has she begun to improve? I hope things go well and the pancreatic cancer that you moved the interview up for will not take her before she gets to see you walk down the aisle. I also hope the doctors are helping manage her pain.. I had a hard time seeing my father die of that disease. The pain is really something else. :( I'm sending lots of love!

Our VisaJourney started July 2009 when I mailed the 129-F

Fiance here February 2010, married 10 days later

GC received in the mail 10-Jun-2010

Able to apply to remove conditions 12-Feb-2012

BABY GIRL BORN JULY 2011!!!

Hi Jewel, unfortunately her condition is stable at best. Her chemo is taking it's toll and the survival rate for her type of cancer is at 87% fatality rate. At this time we are just hoping she lives to watch the videography. We of course hope for miracles, but thank you for your prayers and concern. You guys are the best.. We are truly blessed. I told my sister about VJ and how supportive everyone is of her efforts to heal. Please keep the prayers coming!

We finally got our date.. Jan 26... at least it is 2010 and not 2011... they have truly made every effort to delay it at every stage it seems.... if there are no more delays, she should be here two months from now...

Congratulations on the interview date Scott!!

How did your Dam Hoi go?

We had a great time... her uncles demanded I do shots with them... 30+ ... needless to say I was trashed as were 4 of her uncles and she never drinks and she did 4 shots at the end of the party to get them to ease up on me... We got alot of great photos... I miss being able to eat "fresh" food.... we ate so much while I was there... The coming back here without her doesn't get easier, but at least it was the last time I will have to do it...

I'm glad you two had a great time :star: hopefully the time will fly by fast till you are together again!!

She wants to fly here the day she gets the visa... I am looking at things much the way Chris is... I think she will have many loose ends she is not aware of that need to be addressed before she leaves...

Hey everyone... congrats to all of you who have already been approved. Joseph is staying in Manila, in a few hours will be his second day of the medical exams... hopefully everything will be all set. A week from today is his interview... now the nervousness is starting to set in! I hope he has everything..

He will know if he passed the medical at the end of the second day right?

Wish us luck!

Megan

Thank you so much, Scott!!! :) :)

Sorry for not updating you guys earlier... But my interview went very smooth and the interviewers were nice! :) They need a couple of documents from John which he'll send to the embassy next week and then they can issue the visa :)

I posted the details of how the interview went on the MENA forum and here's a link if you all want to know how exactly it went:

My very best wishes to you Aya and John, yall deserve all the happiness in the world.. well Kim.. I think I can i think i can lol. I read you only need the I-94 and the approved K-1 to apply for the SSC and that you didn't have to be married to get it.. but good point.. I will make sure the ducks are in a row before I venture down that avenue.. funny I'd lost sight of that little detail.. get married firsts lol funny details details :)
