Hi , Guys ! Today i got a hard copy of NOA2 and it said that my petition was forwarded to the listed consulate. But I know for a fact that my docs are at NVC where I have been assigned a new case number. Why is that and if anyone knows and filed i-824 should I do the same. My attorney told me to disregard this since its a standard letter they send everyone. Thanks for advice and help.

Do you mean I-864?

No. Its I-824 application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition . Thanks

Why are you filing it? Your case was sent to NVC and should be on its way to the consulate soon as long as you dont end up in AP like we did. If you call NVC they likely have already sent your case on to the consulate.

I am not filing it just a little bit of confusion over letter. that all. it saying that my case forwarded to consulate not NVC I was wondering if everyone gets the same.

Its the same letter that most get from USCIS... its BS as everyone goes to NVC first

Guys, I am really frustrated that I haven't even got a touch. I called USCIS, they have the same status that's on the website. Is there any way I can talk to someone at VSC to know the real status.

Is there anything that I could do to get this process going...

ok guys! I called my Congressman's office around 11:30 AM Oct 6th and I spoke to his immigration liason and told her about my case. She asked me to wait on the line and called VSC and told me that the case is assigned to an officer and she couldn't gather any other info at this time and we will have to wait.

So I booked an info pass appt for today to see if my case is struck on FBI or Name Check and I find out my case was approved on Oct 6th. But my status hasn't been updated in the USCIS website. Even though I am very happy that my case iss approved, I know my case was sitting on someone's desk without being worked on and the only reason it was approved was because of the phone call.

I know there are so many of you that are in my boat, so please call your congressman...

Thankseveryone for all ur help.

Hello!

I think tracking the package via DHL is so frustrating since it involves a lot of guessing and estimation. Maybe you would want to try calling the Department of State instead to ask if the embassy has received your package. Call (202) 6631225 press 1 then 0. It worked for me and my fiance. The only sad part is that DOS told my fiance that we're already eligible to schedule an interview appointment but US embassy said we're not yet eligible.

Goodluck to all of us!!!

Yep I got that too boo.. its wait and wait at this stage..... if the papers flow according to plan, John should get his packet by 10-14, with an interview schedule before 11-10 hopefully :-s.. He goes for his medical tomorrow yay!!!! GL to everyone!!

Mark got his packet 3 today! YEAH!!! One step closer! Wendy, I will keep my fingers crossed that John will get his soon!

Woo Hooo.... 17 days at NVC and no end in sight!!!! I should have packed a meal for this long of a stay... Same story every day.. your case is undergoing additional processing.. no estimated timeline for this process is available. I am thinking the interview will be next year at this point... at least I will be there in 48 days... so there is a plus....

I guess the congressional inquiry is not worth as much as most would think...

Good Mornin Fellow VJ'rs!!

I felt like spending $16 this mornin and called US Embassy in London for an update. I'm glad I DID!! The embassy received our application from NVC on 10-6-09. The instructions to John were sent on 10-7-09, so he should have them any day now. I was a little disheartened when he said the interview may take 6 months to schedule :( but My hopes will remain high until we see that interview date!! :) Good Luck to all still waiting for their next step :thumbs: .

6 MONTHS!!!! You have got to be kidding me! Let's hope it is not tha long! Average at that consulate is about 60 days or that is what I read. Our wedding is scheduled in less than 6 months! OMG....was hoping to have him over here by January! Let's keep our fingers crossed Wendy. Mark got his letter with the instructions for packet 3 by snail mail. Hope John gets his soon!
