Scott,

I called the NVC today and they forwarded our case to the London consulate yesterday! No AP at the NVC level. I tracked it using the DHL help I found on here and it is somewhere in England at the moment. We are so excited that we are out of the NVC and on to the next stage of the journey. Hang in there...they will have a record of your case soon!

Kim

They got my case on Wed. but it was not in the automated system and it may leave for the consulate as early as today if I am lucky... I will know when I call tonight if it left today... I am actually going to be able to know within a couple of days when the interview will be as I have a way to shave a few weeks off of our process at the VN consulate.

Approx 60 days after I send them the email next week, we will get an interview. I had already scheduled a trip to be there in late Nov when we were expecting an Oct / Nov NOA2 date. Too cool, I am already scheduled to be in the country when she will have her interview. This will save me a bunch of $

Can you believe an Aug filer got approved in 31 days? And given the 5 month posted processing times I thought we were lucky!

Just a note: Apparently automated systems are not for K1's. I'm not sure why, but that's what I found out in another thread. You will have to speak to a live operator.

I'm trying to Wendy... Still haven't received a reply back from Cairo consulate about my 'change of mailing address' request yet... NVC hasn't given John a DHL tracking number to track the visa and so now we know it must be in Cairo but is it in the embassy yet.. Still no reply... They only take calls between Sunday and Thursday just for three hours.. And they don't answer case specific questions over the phone anyway... And the NVC case number John got isn't working on the Cairo Consulate website 'yet', a lady from NVC told him the case probably is not in the consulate system yet... So here I am waiting, trying to have patience...

NVC Recieved our case yesterday! I called them and the mean old lady told me not to call back for 2 weeks! HA! yea right, called back this morning and got the case #! So, now this is the number we use on all the forms to bring to the interview, am i right?

The only actual form that I completed that required the # is the DS-2001, Many consulates do not require this form. I have completed DS-230, DS 156, DS 156K and no space for consulate case #. If anyone knows of a form that requires it let us know...

The number is however required when it comes to the information being submitted to the Consulate at the interview. I have a cover page that outlines the contents of the pakage for the interview and the # is in the second line of the Header. followed by our names... Include it here in case somehow it gets seperated from the file for some reason... I actually thought about having a rubber stamp made for a few bucks and stamp the # on the bottom of every piece of paper submitted...

NVC will not give a tracking number... You can kind of track it by inputting CORRESPONDENCE in the reference field http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef then 03801 as the Origin Postal Code. Then select the date they sent to Cairo and the day after as the date range... This should be enough for a list of deliveries.. then look for Cairo.. Yours is likley one of the ne or two shipments listed... You can track them, but can't be sure if 'your' paperwork is specifically in it.

I did it and the tracking numbers are 9211350245 and 9211351402 from the 18th and none from Monday the 21st.. so both of the files that left on the right date for your package are there as of the 22nd

You can go here and eneter those 2 numbers http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?nav=Tracknbr

So your stuff has been there a few days now...

No, but since the forms are in English I filled them out and will take them to her to be sure there is NO CONFUSION.... I dont want an issue with the consulate because she misunderstood what they wanted.. I had couple of times that I had to think twice about what they wanted in a specific spot on a form.

I have old packet 3 forms from Cairo Consulate, I got them from a VJ friend who had been through the process a couple of years ago.. They are both in Arabic and English, but the answers must be submitted in English. I think they are the same forms you mentioned only that they contain the Arabic translation.. I've practiced on them a few times, and I have to say I got confused on many points.. I haven't had time even look at them since NOA2 though... I guess I'll just wait for packet 3, there's so much to do before it's here...
