We sent ours off on June 2...and yes I think we all have a patience problem. Just wish they would cash our check. We really want to get married next spring so let's pray for rapid processing. Good luck to us all!!!

Hey everyone...

I sent my I-129F (actually the lawyer did) on May 28th. But I assume they at USCIS didn't receive it until June...

Also waiting... And also having patience problems...

Hoping to move in December... What do you, more experienced guys, think? Will I have time to have everything done by Dec?

Good luck to all of us!

I read in a lot of posts here that the couple better do things themselves than hiring a lawyer, but don't worry just follow the guides to be ready for the next step, have your papers ready on time, and ask your lawyer and VJ about every detail you are not sure about. And 28th May makes you an early June filer ;)

We are also hoping to be reunited there in December :) Good luck wish you a smooth journey!!

Aya

Checked my online bank account this morning and saw my check had been cashed  . My NOA1 date was for 6/5/2009.

I took the EAC number off the back of my check and was able to get my NOA1 date from the UCICS website.

I was starting to get worried.

Hopefully everybody else will be getting there NOA1's pretty soon.

Aya,

We chose a lawyer because my fiancé is currently working in Afghanistan and it would be hard for him to work on what we need for the visa - and even check on his mail...

Hope we had made a good decision...

Good luck for you too!!

By the way, does anybody know if I can call the USCIS and ask if they have at least received my petition? I haven't heard from the lawyer yet (it's been almost 2 weeks he sent my I-129F) and I don't want to wait 3 months to find out nothing has been even filed... (Yesterday I read about someone who's been through this... Sad...)

Thanks in advance!

Lu

Unless is has been 30 days since you mailed it in, you won't get any information from them. I tried to call them to get my EAC # and they wouldn't help me. They were very nice, but said there was nothing they could do.

Lu,

I wish you the best of luck with your journey and to be with your fiance soon (F) Don't worry, just check with your lawyer and hopefully things will go faster than you expect (F)

I don't know if that will help like Clay&Mila said, but here's the USCIS number 1-800-375-5283... John has called them a few times before we sent our petition to ask general questions and they answered him.. I don't know if they answer questions about petitions on phone or not, but you can try xx

Your lawyer should be able to give you information about HOW the petition was sent. For example, FedEx will always have a delivery confirmation, which will let you know that the petition is there.

If your lawyer cannot give you this information. He/she is a hack and you should not pay them a dime more.

The USCIS is another question. However, in my experience they always send notifications to both the client and the lawyer.

Hang in there!!

Hey everyone!

Today my fiance sent me his bank statement and I saw that our check has been cashed on June 4. But I still haven't received the NOA1...

What to do? Which date should I consider? The date I receive the letter from the USCIS or the day the check is cashed?

Do you think they will be too far from each other or my NOA1 should be around June 4?

Thanks!

Lu

PS: Aya, thanks a lot for the links you sent me! I'll take a look at them right now! (F)

Hi Clay & Mila!

How could you check your NOA1 date from the USCIS website? In which link?

By the way, what's EAC number? Does the bank statement show it?

Thank you!

When they cash your check. They put a 10 digit number on the back of the check. It will start with EAC followed by seven numbers.

Get that number then go to this link.

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

On the right side of the page. you will see where there is a section that says "Check Case Status"

Put that EAC # in there.

You will then need to create an account similar to the way you did for Visa Journey. You will then be able to see your case.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Good Luck!!!!

I mailed our I-129 overnight to CSC on 4 June. Checked the USPS sit and the package was signed for 5 June. I was curious about the usual time frame for getting a case number. I paid with a money order. I suppose I could check if there is way to find out if it was cashed. I'm assuming this is the "NOA1" I see referenced. Good luck and a smooth and speedy process to everyone
