Does anyone know how I can phone to talk to a Supervisor at the Vancouver Consulate? We still have not received my husbands passport back or visa after his May 19 interview. I have emailed them and each time they say "hopefully we can give you more information by the end of the week" NOT COOL! How long can they keep his passport and just keep us hanging???:wacko::wacko:

Oh wow....that's a LONG wait!!! I was told after my interview "about a week". Did you bring along a trackable envelope? (For my visa I had to) If so, check the tracking number online, that's why I did.

This is the information I found online...I don't know if it's the right info, but it's worth a shot calling, or even faxing?

(604) 685-4311 Phone

(604) 685-7175 Fax

Also it states you can email or fax about passports: Passports - vancouverACS@state.gov

http://www.consular.canada.usembassy.gov/vancouver.asp

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply... We left them with the xpresspost envelope and have been tracking it daily.... of course it hasn't moved. I tried calling the phone number and it's all recorded info... no options to talk to a person. They do give a 900 number to call if you want to pay by the minute to talk to someone. That may be my only option I guess. Crazy!!!

:crying:

I would try and email too, hopefully it's not one of those silly automated responses that gets sent to you. Maybe a fax would help too? Always an option...Staples sends faxes all over for you.

Good luck!

I emailed them last week and again this week. Both times I got the same answer... Hopefully we will have something for you by Friday. Good thing I'm not holding my breath!

Hi,

My only suggestion is - don't be tempted to call the 900 number - incredibly expensive and the response I got to a question was totally not helpful - I ended up having to explain to a person what I was talking about - that call ended up costing me around $30 I believe.

Anyway, your whole visa application is being reviewed and I think you can assume that they are conferring with whomever about your Husband's court case. I doubt that you are going to get any better answer than you already have - which is - they hope to let you know by the end of the week.

I am sure it is incredibly annoying - how could it not be - but there is not a lot you can actually do at this point.

They can keep his passport as long as they want to - or until you ask them to give it back. I have read of cases where the person needed the passport and it was returned (no visa in it - but returned).

Also, the only people that will probably have any idea of the answers to your contact questions are probably in the Canada forum, I would strongly recommend that you post your questions there.
