There may be no law against it (hard to believe, but maybe), but you can pretty much guarantee on being arrested if the place is too public.

I'd love to know why you're asking. :D

uhmmm ......uhmmm..... define too public :innocent:

uhmmm ......uhmmm..... define too public :innocent:

For starters, if passing babushki can see your unmentionables - it is too public.

If you cannot zip your fly before the militsia that spotted you across the street can ask what you think you're doing - it is too public.

If passing tourists can take digital photos of you en flagrante, and it looks like you are bumpin' uglies in the pic - it is too public.

If any one EVER can identify your SO as the bush bunny with you - it was too public.

If you are close enough to others to carry on a conversation.... well, you get the idea.

Any one else want a shot at this?

Yeah, if I'm "accidentally" viewing some internet porn one day and you pop up on there with your SO knocking one out at the park in Moscow, then it's too public. "Oh man, I think that was sivad with his girl. Ewww. Now I feel all weird posting in the same thread as him."

To be quite technical though, I don't think there's really anything you can do in Russia that you can't "pay the fine" to get out of, including public sex. And are you sure it's Russia that's banned Borat? I could see Kazakhstan banning him, but not Russia.

My friend saw Borat in the theater in Russia ... so definitely not banned. I dont think any movies are really banned anymore over there. They practice the same MPAA styled censorship nonsense, but no banning

I think you're right about it being banned in Kazakhstan; I can't site any sources right now, but the idea is that it's banned because the way it portrays life there.

As for the sex in public places conversation: This was actually a topic of conversation at some point with the other half. It seemed to come down to not being illegal or at least not something you're likely to get in much if any trouble for. In any case it's a strong contrast to the U.S. when it comes to this particular enjoyable outdoor activity.

I can think of one counter example.

Having political ambitions and the ability to pull it off. See Mikhail Khodorkovsky.

Which is funny because it was actually shot in Romania. "High five!"

As always, Satellite speaks the truth. That is the one crime you can't get away with.... well, actually, if you had a HUGE bribe, maybe you could. (But you'd probably end up dead first so, again, he's correct.)
