Timeline

Hey,

can you guys tell me what your experiences are regarding NVC processing times?

After receiving the IV-Bill from the NVC - how long did it take for them to forward the paperwork to the embassy abroad?

[i am especially interested in the experiences of people from Germany]

met Oct 2001 during my exchange program at his university

July 2002 Jon comes to visit me in Germany for two months

Dec 2002-Feb 2003 I visit him again in California

Mar 2003 Jon's comes to visit me for Spring Break

Aug 2003 I return to the US on a tourist visa to look for an internship

Jan 2004 - Jul 2005 internship on a J-1 and live with Jon

Dec 2005 got married in the US

1/23/06 - I-130 sent to California Service Center

2/3/06 - CSC received I-130

2/8/06 - *touched*

04/25/06 - approval notice I-797 for I-130

I-129F

2-24-06 - I-129F sent to Chicago Service Center

2-27-06 CSC received I-129F

3-01-06 NOA1

3-04-06 *touched*

3-07-06 *touched*

3-08-06 *touched*

i believe the whole process will take 1-2 months.

09-01-2006 | K3 Interview, Visa Approved

09-14-2006 | Passport recieved from Consulate

01-23-2007 | POE at Chicago

AOS process

07-25-2007 | Mailed to CHICAGO LOCKBOX

08-30-2007 | NOA1

09-07-2007 | Biometrics Appointment

01-28-2008 | AOS interview-More evidence requested

02-07-2008 | AOS approved

02-19-2008 | Recieved Green Card in mail

Timeline

It depends on 2 things, which visa and which consulate. I am assuming that since you said you have the IV bill then you are going for the CR1/IR1 visa. Ours took 4 months to process before it was ready to send to Morocco. But again, it depends on how your consulate processes their applications.

The K-3/K-1 visa take a lot less time at the NVC. Just in one week and out the next.
