Hi there,

I have some questions about translating documents... my fiancee is from Denmark and most of all the documents we will need for the AOS will be in Danish. How exactly does the translation thing work?

Do you just write out on a blank paper what each word means or do you have to make the document look exactly like the original? Can my fiancee do the translating?

I mentioned this to my lawyer and he said something about having him translate it and then getting a relative from Denmark certify that the translation is accurate?

most important is that the translation is accurate and portrays the information correctly... Many will try to replicate the format...

the translator must be competent in both languages and sign a statement indicating such on each translation
