funny, I am here right now, and he is a very handsome man :)

Are the kids in love or still a little scared?

OMG...haha! I'm glad I caught you. They love him. Nour climbs all over him and steps on his head and Zain just keeps patting him on the head and belly. He very good with the babies.

Good Morning Happy Monday :energy: Hope everyone has a fantastic Monday! Everyone at our arabic church was shocked yesterday when they saw my hair! The mother of our pastors wife kept looking at it and saying in arabic, "where did all her hair go?!"

Tasha, Im sorry to hear that your husband wants to go back to Egypt for 2 months. That seems too long especially considering he was just there for 2 months. Have you talked to him about how your feeling about it ? Im sure he misses his home country and family but to be gone so much is not fair to you and your kids. I think for some of the guys, coming to the US has got to be shocking from what their dreams of America was. I know Adam mentioned to me along time ago and then 2 nights ago that living in Europe would be better. I have already told him that living in Europe would still be like living here... you work hard every day, pay bills all the time, you dont take vacations just whenever you want to, its not OK to call out of work bcz you want to, people still harass other people over there, the land is not any more free over there than here, the grass is NOT greener on the other side. Adam is starting to think that Americans are racist bcz he is made fun of alot at work either by customers or some associates. Customers think hes mexican so they make smart comments to him or speak to him in spanish to make fun of him. A couple of guys at work call him Sand N...., or Camel F or Arab Terrorist. Its not appropriate for work or anywhere and he hasnt learned to open door it or just ignore it.

But I do know for me, that when I try to get a point across to him for anything that if I yell and fuss he wont listen to me, if I act sad or if i am really sad and probably cry then hes more willing to listen to me as long as im not arguing or screaming at him.

These are co-workers????that's just awful!!!!At a previous job of mine, you couldn't even point a banana at someone, cuz if you did, that was considered sexual harrasement! I hope things get better for your hubby at work!

Bridget and HLM,

Honestly I think two visits for two months at a time is too long. I tried fighting him on this a month ago..now mind you he has only been home two and a half months and he tried to threaten me if I came in between him and any of his children he will not stand for it and we are done. I don't think that I would take somebody doing it to me and my kids as well but I also think reasonably and rationally with responsibility. I am not the jealous step mother type at all. I really just want my husband to be in the US when he's here and not be consumed with EG. Visit his children and help out financially at home.

He has been saying things like nothing ever works right in America. Sounds spoiled right? He was going to start classes at the college this summer and it isn't working out because his financial aid will not be available right away. He will have to pay up front and then get reimbursed. He claims he will not do that. His negative attitude makes things not go his way and his mind being occupied with EG makes him think unclear.

God help us because times are trying right now.

If it makes you feel any better my husband isn't too keen on the US lately either. Nothing to do with politics really but moreso like the following:

  • Hates the fact that some of the shows the kids watch have sexual innuendos or worse have people sleeping with each other before marriage. (Gilmore Girls, What I Like About You, etc.)
  • Gets all pouty if my 13 yr old wears a miniskirt even though she has leggings on underneath and blames it on the US because "everyone here dresses half naked and the kids are doing the sex all the time anywhere with anyone. He would never say anything directly to her because he knows that is not his place but boy do I get an earful when she's not around!

It's almost like when he's in a bad mood the anti-American culture ####### pours out like a seive. Sometimes I wonder what will happen if he does go to Egypt and then comes back but you know what, whatever happens happens. I can't change what I can't change. What's that saying, "God help me to accept the things I cannot change, change the things I can and give the wisdom to know the difference". There are naughtier versions of it but you get the point.

Bridget, that is when it starts when he's in a bad mood or something doesn't go his way. Seriously though, nothing has went his way. Mom said well maybe if he got a better attitude and was nicer than he would get some good karma.
