Conditional greencard seperation

If a situation were to rise where my Wife and I split, even divorced, before my conditional greencard expires, would i be required to inform the USCIS? Also, with a greencard am eligible to reside in another state if i find work there?

Thank you. Do you know if i would have to inform the USCIS right away? Or wait until removal of conditions, which is another year and a half away.

You can remove conditions as soon as you have the divorce decree, no need to wait until your conditional card expires.

Are you sure of this? I thought i had to wait until the removal time presented itself, 90 days before the expiration of your conditional green card, no earlier?

If not, how do i go about getting the form now.

Yes, I'm sure. You can apply to remove conditions as soon as you have your divorce decree. Have a look around the Removing Conditions forum, there are some others in the same boat there.

Also, if you move states, you are required to inform USCIS within 10 days, of your new address.

It's not a given, but my Wife has put it out there and i want to be best prepared. My original mindset was to go home if she did take action, but i have just been granted financial aid for college and would have such a big opportunity here, i would not want to let it slip over a failed marriage.

I think that last posting was out of place and inappropriate for a grown person to write. Depending on the university, financial aid to overseas and USC students is made available freely and often with government grants.

As to the OP's questions, yes, it is OK to live and work wherever you want in the U.S. with your conditional green card. It is up to the USCIS to evaluate whether or not to issue the permanent one based on the evidence you present showing that a bona fide marriage had existed up to the point you fell apart as a couple.

Extreme hardship is not going back to a less desirable location. Not that you would probably even need to prove such a thing anyway, again more misunderstandings and a slap in the face to those who really have extreme hardships. Read up.
