These vary a bit by country (e.g., police certificates) and the personal situation of the beneficiary (is the person married now and was he or she previously divorced). But to give you idea, here is the text of the cover letter that my wife used for her DS-230:

Enclosed are the following items per the immigrant visa instructions. Please return the government-issued documents to me at the time of my interview in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico:

• Bar-coded cover sheet

• DS-230 Part 1 completed and signed (2 pages)

• Additional sheet to answer DS-230 Part 1 questions for which there was not enough space

• DS-230 Part 2 completed but unsigned, per instructions (2 pages)

• Certified copy of my birth certificate

• Photocopy of my birth certificate

• Certified copy of my current marriage certificate

• Photocopy of my current marriage certificate

• Certified copy of the judgment of divorce from my prior marriage

• Photocopy of that judgment of divorce

• Photocopy of the Biographic Data Page(s) of my passport

• Two passports photos, bagged and attached to a sheet of paper with my name and case #

Does the oroginal NOA2 for the I-130 have to be included or am I having a "brain fart"? I thought I remember reading it somewhere that it was needed for something but I can't find it stated anywhere. Or does that go with my wife to the interview?

Am getting my DS-230 ready as well.

hey thank u so much for all the info and we have no kids at all we just married on the dec, 17, 2008 and i was only married for 6 days in 1988 and my wie died after 6 days of marriage in an accident and then i was so shock for almost 20 years and then i met sheryl online and now we very happily married, i got my ex wife death certificate and copy too notorized ( thanks to Wal Mart). sheryl is never married before and she never worked anywhere and she never lived anywhere but her home. so it is easy to file for both of us. i do have all the IRS tax returns for the last three years. I just need to go get the police clearance for me and she is getting it too in philippines this week. i never been arrested or any crime or anything like that, so i am thinking that i should have any problem with any thing. all u vjers thank u so much, abby n sheryl

THE POLICE CLEARANCE IS ONLY FOR HER... NOTHING IS NEEDED FROM YOU,,, READ THE GUIDE.... THE ONLY THING THAT IS NEEDED FROM YOU IS FROM YOUR PREVIOUS MARRIAGE OF CERTIFICATE AND ALSO A DEATH CERTIFICATE FROM YOUR PREVIOUS WIFE..
