Could pregnancy be a problem for a visa?

As others have said, your pregnancy will not be a problem. If your child is born in Bulgaria, he/or she will have US citizenship through their father. Go to the US embassy and file the forms for US citizen birth abroad (I think I butchered the exact title). The child will get a US passport and not have to go through the immigration process.

I dont see why being pregnant would be a problem... as mentioned, make sure you mention it during your medical check. If anything, it will work for your benefit... it will help to prof you have a legitimate marriage!

Being pregnant is not proof of a legitimate marriage- it is proof of being fertile. Please don't suggest to other members that it can be used as proof of relationship.

No way!!! You'll be fine! :) Congrats by the way!!! I met a few people at my interview in Montreal who already had little babies, or were just pregnant. There's nothing that will "stop" you from getting your visa. Tell your husband to not worry :)

Congratulations! I don't think it will be a problem to get the visa being pregnant. My fiancee is pregnant too and will delivery 12th of July, so, regarding the current time processing, I should not be able to be with her for the birht :-( I miss the best of her pregnancy and cannot take care of her. It's really hard but we don't have the choice. In fact, we lost almost 2 months at NVC because of some additional review and now the US ambassy at Paris is overloaded...

Good luck

Hi all,

I'm the beneficiary, I just found out last week I'm pregnant. My husband is not very happy for few reasons.

He thinks if we get stuck at NVC stage as it has happened to other people, then pregnancy would not be good for our situation. He does not want to be away from the baby, he wants to share first emotions with me, too.

Another reason is the medical test for the interview. They will find out I'm pregnant. Could the medical prevent me getting a visa somehow?

I just wanna hear different opinions here and personal experience.

Thank you all, much love, Ani

You should also check the vaccine whether it has the side-effect with the pregnancy.

When my wife had the vaccination shot done prior to the interview, the doctor informed us that, not trying to get pregnant because the vaccine might become a problem for the fetus.

Ask the doctor again regarding what type of vaccination you will be getting.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

You don't have to worry about being pregnant when you have you're medical exam just inform them about you're situation and i'm sure that they have an options for the applicants who have the same situation like yours. It says in SLEMEC Medical Instruction chest x-ray for pregnant women are not dangerous if taken with the proper shielding.US.Public Health Service/Centers for Disease Control(USPHS/CDC)has approved an exception to the chest X-ray requirement for pregnant women if they do not want to take it,which means you have a choice not to take the X-ray  ,how ever pregnant women visa applicants are advice to obtain a tuberculin skin test and any necessary follow up at the local health department after arriving in the United States. If you have previous chest X-ray you must bring the results with them to SLMEC for comparative analysis.I hope this helps you to be calm and not to worry about you're pregnancy when i have read your post i immediately remember the info i have learned about the medical exams for pregnant women that i have read before when i was still preparing for my medical exam sched in the Philippines. So relax ok! Congratulations to you up coming baby! ;)

A new life is truly a gift of God. Right now your mere focus should be to remain calm and relaxed, rather stressed and worried. Definately everything will happen for the better. If the babies father is meant to be around when he enters the world, nothing can stop him. And if not, then nothing within human power will bring him there. Things are working out, you have a new addition to the family, make the most of it.

And most importantly, Congratulations! Wish you have a beautifuly and healthy baby!

We have almost the same timeline at the NVC as you do. And my wife is about 12 weeks pregnant. So I understand your feelings,,, However, what a better sign

of a committed relationship then a baby. As far as you husband not being happy,, might be the same as me, A bit worried about being apert during the pregnancy,

concerned about you not being able to travel,, if the visa is not approved in a timely manner,, and for me and my wife, it was not in the plan. We wanted to spend

a bit more time for her, to get here and her career established (she is a nurse). Life is that way sometimes. I take the pregnancy as a lucky (although unplanned)

event in our lives, maybe, the luck will continue with a speedy visa. Good luck!!!
