Can i fly there with my irish driving licence then because i dont want to show my passport with the expired visa attatched?

Well, its none of the airlines business if your visa is expired, they just need to see ID to allow you to board. Remember, you're not flying to another country. But I have just shown my canadian drivers license when flying within the US and its been fine.

I doubt it. If you are a US cititzen, your dl is a valid id, I'm willing to bet that you need a passport.
Wrong. Foreign-issued DL's are considered as valid ID due to their issuance by a government.

Wrong - My French driver's license has no value here, neither do any foreign drivers' licence I think (maybe the canadian one?).

My thoughts exactly. The OP is not eligible for a K-1 fiancee visa.

Yes, you can go anywhere at least in any of the 50 states. Keep in mind it is possible that you could be asked for ID. If you show a foreign drivers license you may be asked for your passport or another form of ID. The K1 visa is for someone engaged. If your K1 does by some chance come through you are here in the USA. That is probably very slim since you probably are using an American address on the I129F paperwork. During any checks the USCIS may check to see if you have ever had a visa to be in the USA. The visa waiver program ay show up. Even if the K1 goes through, you will have to return to Ireland for your interview. I hope you have some way to cover your tracks.

my thoughts to you is to call the USCIS and tell them that you were blinded by love and made a few mistakes. Hey, we all do mistakes.

4-17-2009 sent K1 Petition

5-1-2009 USCIS received petition

7-20-2009 NOA2 received

8-3-2009 NVC received petition

8-4-2009 NVC sent petition to Manila

9-22-2009 Medical Exam (scar on lungs) will have sputum test done

9-28-2009 K1 visa interview (canceled)

12-02-2009 call the SLMEC for sputum test report out

12-07-2009 Medical passed

12-08-2009 CFO

December 16, 2009 visa Pink Slip

December 20, 2009 entered USA

i agree with you. i just hope they are not pokig around into visas ect.

One thing to keep in mind, your name on your ID needs to be the same as on your airline ticket so if your ID has full name airline ticket needs to be the same... Some new thing not sure if it's the airline or TSA?

Below is the TSA list.. it says that you if you are a nonresident/citizen you must show/use your Passport. I think that if it is expired you may run into some difficulties.. however.. the TSA is looking at ID not dates.. but it also needs to be listed as VALID id...

hope you get the info you need..

ALSO .. as the others say..

K1 is for Fiance visa.. if you filed it and are NOW married you have filed incorrectly.

Your S.O may be needing to file a K3 where you will need to return to your country and wait out the remaining. Unless you file it as a CR1 still you will need to return to your country to wait it out. sorry

TSA: ID Requirements

Effective June 21, 2008, adult passengers (18 and over) are required to show a U.S. federal or state-issued photo ID that contains the following: name, date of birth, gender, expiration date and a tamper-resistant feature in order to be allowed to go through the checkpoint and onto their flight.

Passengers who do not or cannot present an acceptable ID will have to provide information to the Transportation Security Officer performing Travel Document Checking duties in order to verify their identity. Passengers who are cleared through this process may be subject to additional screening. Passengers whose identity cannot be verified by TSA may not be allowed to go through the checkpoint or onto an airplane.

Acceptable IDs include:

U.S. passport

U.S. passport card

DHS "Trusted Traveler" cards (NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST)

U.S. Military ID (active duty or retired military and their dependents)

Permanent Resident Card

Border Crossing Card

DHS-designated enhanced driver's license

Drivers Licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent) that meets REAL ID benchmarks (All states are currently in compliance)

A Native American Tribal Photo ID

An airline or airport-issued ID (if issued under a TSA-approved security plan)

A foreign government-issued passport

Canadian provincial driver's license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) card

Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)

Non-US/Canadian citizens are not required to carry their passports if they have documents issued by the U.S. government such as Permanent Resident Cards. Those who do not should be carrying their passports while visiting the U.S.

This standardization of the list of accepted documents better aligns TSA with other DHS components, including Customs and Border Protection, and REAL ID benchmarks.
