I'm sure this question has been asked and answered, I did a search, found more stuff on the 864 which mentioned the spouse of the co-sponsor filling out 864A. If they filed jointly, does she need to do anything? His income alone is more than enough (60K for a family of 2).

Thats because there are no specific rules for the I-134. It is a very temporary document, replaced by the I-864 at AOS.

The I-134 is an idvidual document. His wife does not need to do anything, BUT only the co-sponsors income "counts". His wife's income will not count even if a joint return, they can decipher this by the w-2s. He should state only his income on the form. His income will need to be sufficient to support his family AND the fiance(e). When you do the AOS, and if you still need a joint sponosr, then his wife can fill out an I-864a to include her income also.

The wife can if needed or not, if not needed.
