We missed the Embassy by 11 minutes because of my stomach I got off the underground railway having to go to the bathroom urgently. This made us late. We stood at the door with the man telling us American Services is from 8 am - 11 am. I hadn't realized it and thought we were early but we were rejected anyways. Now we are delayed yet another day because he wouldn't let us in and Waleed tried to tell him we have to go to Hurghada for his work. It seems Hurghada is days and days away. We were able to get an example of the current packet 3 but the man told Waleed don't go for the medical until you speak with the American Counsular. So tomorrow we will try again and this time get up much earlier. It took us over 45 minutes to get to the embassy today. I am not looking forward to a third pilgramiage. However I did get some numbers to call:

American Embassy in Cairo

To schedule appointments for Non-Immigrant Visas; and for services releated to immigrant visas

Please call 0900-70-600 from a landline in Egypt or 2100 from Vodafone cell phone

E-Mail:

For Non immigrant visas:

consularcaironiv@state.gov

For Immigrant Visas:

consularcairoiv@state.gov

Homepage: http://cairo.usembassy.gov

http://egypt.usembassy.gov

I told the man I emailed 3 times and recieved no reply. The man looked so frustrated at me about it. To date I still have recieved no email for my emails. I'm going to the embassy tomorrow morning and probably McDonald's again to get wi-fi and let you all know how it goes.

Happy Sunday!

I remember the first time I came to Egypt, we needed to go to the Embassy and to get our marriage translated. We took a train from Alexandriait to Cairo which is 2 hours, then had to find our way to the underground railway..I had to go to the bathroom too by this time..My husband took me to a bathroom and I just stood there in shock. I was like come with me..he looked at me in shock and was like I can't. It was the most horrifing smell in the world,it literally burnt your nose and you lost your breath, that restroom was never cleaned..I decided to hold it for a long time after this. Finally got to the translation place, and they told us it moved. So, off we went again. Got to the right one, and found a toilet finally. And it was maybe a grade higher than the underground train one. When on that train my husband had me in front of him, like I was going to be kidnapped. Anyways when we was at the translation place the lady was horrible to us, and was like Sorry, the translator isnt here and we dont know when she is coming back. So, we had to go to the lady above them. And then had to go back to them again. She really hated us after that. Then my husband had to do it all the next day again, and translate it himself. Made him run down to a cafe and translate and had to have it done by noon. So, then when we took it to the embassy, after we got off the train from Alexandria, we took a cab and the other cab driver got mad at our cab driver and tried to run us into another car. That was a horrible time. Just think we had to pay for a day like that..Can't get that no where but in Cairo.. I can truly understand why you were late.

Wow 0livia, sorry to hear of your troubles. (F)

Good Morning everyone and Happy Sunday!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Sorry Olivia that you are having many issues.

When i first got to Lebanon the very first time, i spent a day or 2 crying but thankfully i didnt end up with any tummy problems. We are very close to the American embassy in Lebanon so that always made me feel better too. Anyway....i hope things start getting better soon so you can make some great memories.

Hope everyone has a good sunday!

Olivia, hang in there, these are the memories you one day will look back and laugh. At the moment it happens not so funny, Cairo, what a city.

Did I hear dance recital, OMG, I LOVE DANCE RECITALS, my daughter did dance and was in her third year of point, when she told me she was giving it up for spending more time in band. :crying: The whole dance thing was my thing, the outfits they wear the glitter and all the girls excited to go on stage. If my daughter ever has a daughter, I will be STAGE GRANDMA. Please Aymsgirl, can you share pictures with us, I would truly enjoy it.

Good Morning Happy Sunday! :energy: Monnik from VJ has been with me since Friday. Yesterday she went with me to get my hair cut short and today she will help me color it! I shocked Adam with how short it is  We are going at 2pm to our arabic church park bcz we are having a lunch and service there. Last night her and I cooked an awesome meal! Kofta (my way), already made grape leaves, creamcheese corn, onion fried rice, and dinner rolls. I actually was able to eat most of that, it just took me forever to eat it bcz my mouth is taking forever to heal. Hope everyone has an awesome Sunday! :goofy:

Olivia I'm so sorry about your tummy problems. Have you tried to take cipro at all? That is what saved me in the end that time I was in Alex. Also immodium was my bff for the entire time I was there. You're just trying to get the packet 3 though right? Can't someone who's recently received it send it to you via email? Some people did that before when I was going through that. Seems frustrating to be waiting for the embassy for a few generalized worksheets that people must already have, you know? Hope you feel better and definitely stay away from the tap water and make sure all bottled water is SEALED since some of the stores try to jip you by just putting tap water in the bottles.

Tasha good luck and bring a good book! Who's taking Malek during the rehearsal? I can't imagine he'd survive the whole time there.

Tamara I want my hair cut tooo!!! I just haven't had the time lately to do anything for myself. I have a list of things I need to get done but my days are filled with the kids' activities lately since they're dad hasn't been taking them. I need to get my hair cut and hilighted, I need new glasses since I can barely see out of the ones I have since they're too scratched up, I need to go to the tailor to get 2 pairs of pants and 3 shirts taken in and shortened, I need to get a pedicure in a baaaad way, etc etc etc.

Ok I was just informed that the dunkin's coffee I bought this morning for my husband is the "worst coffee I have ever had in my life". Scratch that place off the list! (however the glazed cruller was AMAZING I must say ;) )

Good morning everyone I missed. Have to go soon to catch the softball game. Megan got seriously injured at the game Friday night. Poor thing had a baaaad day. Forgot her lunch at school and by the time I saw it in the fridge it was past her lunchtime, came home to find out she didn't do too well on the math mcas right after finding out her sister got placed in advanced math, then at the game she got hit by a pitch right on her elbow and after sitting out two innings went back in the batting line up and got hit AGAIN on her back. :( She's sitting this game out and isn't too happy about it. Lots of tlc for that one this weekend I tell ya!!!!!!

Beautiful outside today. I'm going to try to mop the floors but we'll see how that goes. Yesterday I fell asleep after dinner and didn't wake up until hubby came home around 10pm. I'm just exhausted lately and don't know why.

Good morning and happy Sunday! Hope you are having a great day.

Olivia, sorry to hear you are still having tummy probs. Hope each day

will get better and better.

Tasha, have fun at the recital today! I'm sure it will be great.

Tam, plz say hi to Monnik for us! Happy you are feeling better.

When we would go to the embassy from Alex, we always would just take

a taxi from the train station to the embassy. Is that what you are doing

Olivia? I'm not sure what the underground is. But you are right about the

embassy....they are sticklers for everything. I loved taking the train from

Alex to Cairo. Loved seeing the little farms, the date palms when they are

in bloom with their brilliant red dates, the little kids waving thru the window

at me and giggling when I waved back! What fantastic memories.....but then

the memories of the embassy are forever in the back of my mind!

Hi Jackie, Nagi, GG, Judy, Jess and Maureen!!

Well it's already warm here. Don't know what we will do today. Had fun at

the mall yesterday and then dinner at Mimi's.

Have a wonderful Sunday. Take care and stay safe.
