GOOD NEWS EAD BUT NEED MORE INFO..

Good News ....EAD just arrived today..its about time to put that degree to work...Ok Family here is my Question...I have SSN Card back in days when I was going to school, but stamped that I need Authorization to work from INS...Do I need to go the SSN Office and ask for the one without stamped or just go ahead and start looking for job since I got the EAD Card?

you can update your SSN by bringing with you your EAD. The Social security office will then remove the restriction on your SS card.

For confirmation you can call 1-800-772-1213.

AOS

03-03-2009 - AOS, EAD, AP sent to Chicago office (USPS)

03-11-2009 - Notice Date

03-25-2009 - Case transferred to CSC

05-05-2009 - GC, EAD card, AP received. :D

The restriction will be removed only when you bring them green card.

Adjustment of Status

Dec 3, 2008 - Aug 20, 2009 (approval on August 7th)

Removing of Conditions

May 9, 2011 - October 4, 2011 (approval on September 28th)

Naturalization

July 19, 2014 - N400 packet sent out

July 21, 2014 - N400 packet delivered

July 23, 2014 - received email/text that I-797 is issued

July 26, 2014 - received I-797 in mail

August 11, 2014 - received the Biometrics notification

August 14, 2014 - biometrics walk-in (original date August 20)

August 18, 2014 - in line for interview scheduling

September 9, 2014 - yellow letter is received (letter is issued September 3)

November 3, 2014 - interview notice is issued (email/text alert)

November 10, 2014 - interview notice received with the interview date of December 11, 2014.

November 10, 2014 - request to reschedule mailed out

December 5, 2014 - interview notice is sent out (email/text alert)

December 11, 2014 - received an interview letter in mail

January 10, 2015 - interview on Saturday at 7am

January 26, 2015 - sent the requested documentation

February 26, 2015 - oath letter is issued (email/text alert)

March 2, 2015 - oath letter is received

March 18, 2015 - oath at 8am

This is wrong information.

The restriction will only be removed once you have a Greencard. Your SSN will remain the same, it is issued for life.

You do not need to do anything at the SSA at this time, Once you have been approved for AOS then you can take your greencard to the SSA and get your new SSN card without the restriction.

You need your greencard to show them that you are permanent resident so they can update your status on their records from temporary resident to permanent resident then they will get your Social Security card with restriction to remove it and you will have your new card with just your name and your Social Security number..no more restriction.

Your ssn will still the same number because it's your lifetime number.

I-751 Removal of Condition

03/22/2011 - sent I-751 package to USCIS Vermont via USPS Priority+Certified mail with Return receipt

03/24/2011 - package delivered at VSC according to USPS tracking

03/25/2011 - package received by Center Director according to Return receipt

04/04/2011 - NOA received - dated 03/25/2011

04/11/2011 - Biometrics Appointment Notice received -notice date 04/08/2011

04/28/2011 - Biometrics Appointment - Done!

10/14/2011 - Card Production Email

10/17/2011 - Approval Notice received - dated 10/06/2011

11/04/2011 - 10yrs green card received

Thank you bluemist that was gr8 info...now I know Monday morning got get my resume together and hit the road...Job Hunter ...Hopeful will get job soon course my wife and I are expecting Baby in October so anything come first will do...
