O.K, so May 26 was my medical.

I got an 8:30am appointment but got there 7:53 registered and sat down, the doctor came about 8 o'clock but no one was called until 8:30, they called about 10 of us to go inside and sit down.

When i went in the doctor's office he explained that this medical is required by the US to check if i have any diseases or illnesses, blah blah blah. I was told to take off my blouse and my bra, put on a robe and sit at the edge of the bed. He then told me to lay down while he examined me. That went well.

Went outside and sat in another section as instructed until my name was called to go get my blood drawn. Wasn't too bad.

Next they weighed me checked my height and told me to sit and wait to go to the clinic next. In the clinic they took my temperature and my blood pressure level. No vaccines needed.

Went to another section for chest x-ray. that took about two minutes.

After the chest x-ray i sat for about half an hour and no one told me what to do next so i asked they lady responsible for sorting our dockets. She then told me to change into my clothes and wait for further instructions, 15 mins later still nothing so i got up and asked a nurse what to do next. She told me to go to billing which i did. Sat in billing for another 15 mins no one called my name so i went back inside to the lady with the dockets told here I've just being sitting around. She then looked for my files and sent it to billing, billing here i come.

My name was called to go pay my bill so i went inside went to the window and sat down. The cashier said us$100 or JD$8000 how do you wish to pay, JD or US, i said JD. I took out the money and gave it to him waiting to hear another amount but none came so i asked, is that it? He said that is all i see, i guess you have been a good girl, you got all your shots.

I was so Happy (though i had the money)

All and all it went well even though i didn't finish until 1pm (4 1/2hrs!) and wasn't able to go to work.

It will be worth it in the end.

All the best candy

Appreciate the medical review. Sounds like it isn't too bad. Did you have it in Kingston or Mo Bay?

The medical today wasn't bad at all kerran, apart from the long wait it was good. just adding a little info to help some of our fellow yardie planning to do medical at Andrew's Memorial in Kingston. Be prepared to wait a long time. Got there at 7:45 registration at 8:00 panel physician came in at about 9:30. From registration to the end of medical roughly 5 hours. During that time x-ray was done, blood test for HIV and Syphilis and vaccine. I am 26 so i got the gardasil vaccine which cost $18,000. and Varicella for $6,000. this was required because i never had chicken pox before he told me, all my other vaccine was up to date or stated insufficient time interval. So try not to go empty handed that caught me off guard luckily i was prepared or try to get what ever vaccine you can get before hand at cheaper locations.
