I left it out as N/A. You don't have to give the A# out to anyone once you are a U.S. citizen.

other than the USCIS who is the issuer of the "A" number

That is like telling the SSA that you will not give them your SSN but you still want your SS benefits

YMMV

The A# is given for Aliens. Once you are a U.S citizen you are no longer an alien.

I don't get the analogy with SSA.

but you were....

USCIS issues "A" numbers, SSA issues SSN's... If the SSA asks you for your SSN, you would give it to them... so why if the USCIS asks for what your "A" number is/was would you not list it?

Personally I think it does not matter...

YMMV

Without reading the I-130 form instructions, you are making unnecessary assumptions and comparisons.

I-130 can be filed by both Permanent Green Card holders(aka Aliens) and also by U.S Citizens.

If a GC holder is filing the form, he/she is still an Alien and MUST fill-in the A#.

Just because USCIS asks for an A# doesn't mean you fill that-in.

I am well aware that LPR's as well as citizens can submit an I-130

Am I the only one making unnecessary assumptions? It does not say please fill in your alien number unless of course you are now a naturalized citizen then you do not ever need to tell anyone anymore at anytime.

In the same way just because the USCIS asks for an "A" number doesn't mean you don't fill it in

YMMV

Am sticking with my advise. " If you are a US citizen, write "N/A" on that item that is asking for alien registration number."

To the OP: You are NOT harmed by putting in your Alien number on the form and to find out later it was not required. Isn't it better to be safe than to be sorry? You choose...
