Okay, I searched the forums and found that most people seem to think we need to submit an A-11 for change of address even after we have received our temporary permanent resident cards. I found this at UCSIC and am trying to figure out if we still submit a change of address or not:

USCIS Online Change of Address

Introduction

Online Change of Address is a web-based tool that allows you to change your address online so that USCIS can contact you regarding your status. Customers who have filed an application or petition with USCIS but have not yet received a decision (a "pending" case) should notify USCIS of any change of address as soon as possible after moving.

In addition to changing your address for a pending application the law requires that all non-U.S. citizens, except for holders of A or G visas, report a change of address within 10 days of moving by completing a USCIS Form AR-11, Change of Address.

Please follow the instructions below before filing an Online Change of Address to ensure that you follow the correct procedures.

Okay so since we don't have any pending cases and only need to file for permanent status at the end out our two years as temporary permanent resident, AND we have an 'A' type visa, then it stands to reason we don't need to file for change of address.

Can someone let me know what they think about this and if they can find any information to the contrary??? Thanks!

Visa type A: Diplomats and foreign government officials, or some Foreign military personnel stationed in the U.S.

Visa type G: Employees of a designated international organization, and NATO

I guess the law is you have to report, unless you are also a diplomat and/or foreign government official, or Foreign military personnel stationed in the U.S., or Employee of a designated international organization, and NATO.

You are required BY LAW to notify USCIS of any and all address changes as long as you remain an immigrant in the United States. Your sponsor is also required BY LAW to notify USCIS of any and all address changes for up to 10 years, or until the beneficiary they sponsored becomes a citizen, or leaves the country.

The immigrant needs to use form AR-11 within 10 days of moving, and the sponsor needs to send form I-865 within 30 days of moving, or face a monetary fine, and/or jail time.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card
